Dr. Hubert Greenway, MD

I was very satisfied with the surgery that was performed by Dr Greenway but when he brought in his trainee to close the results were almost disfiguring. I still go to Dr Greenway for my procedure but insist only he complete the tx.

His office was professional and welcoming. The procedure was explained well and went as I anticipated.

Had a previous surgery by Dr. Greenway that went well. Went to him for a squeamous cell on my nose for Mohs surgery. Surgery was done by his resident or fellow not him. Took nearly two months to heal and left a bad scar on the tip of my nose.

Dr. Greenway should tell a patient if surgery is different size than discussed at consult. His office should return calls within a reasonable period of time 24-48hrs would be appropriate. Take better messages since twice my calls had been "forgotten".If a patient has follow up questions for a Dr. he should call them back! His office says he does not return calls to patients. Being an experienced Mohs surgeon that deals often with my tumor type he should be familiar the accepted guidelines. It was not appropriate to send me for radiation. Dr. Greenway in his defense when I asked him about why he sent me for radiation said "it was a consultation". When I had the "consult" with Dr.T it was to explain about radiation, not whether I needed it until I pressed him about the necessity. Dr. Greenway should be the one advising whether radiation is needed, not Dr. T. Maybe Dr. Greenway needs continuing education updating on current guidelines for treating basal cell tumors.

I have had two surgery's by Dr Greenway. Both have had wonderful results. Thank you so much for the great service and wonderful staff.

We were referred to Dr. Greenway by my mom's dermatologist in Yuma, AZ (no one here performs the MOHS Surgery). I am so happy we decided to travel to La Jolla for the surgery. Dr. Greenway's secretary, Ursula, was extremely helpful in arranging our surgery time and all the aggregate testing required. Dr. Greenway, his staff, Carolyn at the front desk, Dr. Taylor, the nurses in the surgery room were simply awesome. So friendly and patient in answering our questions. I cannot thank these folks enough for being so comforting during such a stressful time. This is the first time my family has dealt with cancer of any type and their helpfulness really put us at ease.

I have been treated by Dr. Greenway and his wonderful staff on multiple occasions for precancerous growths as well as basil and squamous cell cancers. I have had them frozen off, cut off and Mohs procedures as well. I can honestly say that I have never received such professional care and concern as I have from the nurses,Physician's Assistants, Fellows and Dr. Greenway himself. I have complete confidence in this group of wonderful professionals and so should you.

i recently had a melanoma removed from my lip. This was supposed to be by Mohs but a large section of tissue was removed on the first attempt. Not my understanding of the Mohs procedure. This resulted in a large scar and a "pocket" on my lip. Very unsightly. An attempt to see Dr Greenway had me redirected to my original dermatologist. This resulted being sent to Dr. Ross who has tried to solve the problem via laser treatments but not much success. He indicated the "pocket" could be filled, at my expense for $350. I think this was a direct result of a "mohs" surgery that was not performed correctly. I have had previous Mohs surgery and they took 2 to 3 attempts in order not to take excessive flesh at the site. not even a scar on that surgery.
