Dr. Huguette Marie Patience Disasi, DPM

Huguette Disasi, DPM, is a podiatrist. She treats children and adults for a variety of conditions affecting the foot and ankle, including plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, stress fractures, shin splints, ankle sprains, osteoarthritis, gouty arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, peripheral artery disease, diabetic foot ulcers, post amputations, fungal, viral and bacterial infections, hyperkeratotic lesions, dermatitis, ingrown nails, paronychia, onychomycosis, bunions, hammertoes, metatarsalgia, ganglion cysts, tarsal tunnel syndrome, neuroma, foot drop and peripheral neuropathy. She also provides post-surgical care and rehabilitation. Dr. Disasi has a clinical interest in wound care and overuse injuries, particularly in runners.“I love playing an integral role in a patient's healing journey,” she says. “Setting goals for recovery and seeing a patient achieve their goal brings a new experience every day. There are no small victories in my book — every step …forward is a win.”Dr. Disasi earned her medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. After medical school, she completed a residency at the Brooklyn Hospital Center, where she served as chief resident.When she was in high school, injuries during cheerleading and track and field spurred her decision to pursue a career in medicine. “I dealt with several overuse injuries and experienced firsthand the impact that treatment by a podiatrist had on my performance and recovery, as well as my quality of life,” says Dr. Disasi. “I saw podiatry as a rewarding career path that was a good fit for me.”Originally from Maryland, Dr. Disasi also spent several years in New York. Her love of nature led her to Pennsylvania. “I have a wonderful husband and partner who shares my love of the outdoors and exploration, as well as large and loving extended family that is actively growing,” she says. An avid writer and reader, Dr. Disasi says she also occasionally enjoys styling hair after working as a hairdresser for a few years.
