My daughter was referred to her for a liver biopsy on a mass. The first time it was scheduled six months ago , she cancelled it , without telling us. Finally another scheduled , months later . And she had sent wrong order. The doctor doing the biopsy could not even get in touch with her. So a biopsy was performed but not on the mass, so now will have to do it again. In the mean time my daughter is suffering and getting worse. She does not respond to phone calls, she does not get results to you. She is either the most uncaring or the most incompetent doctor I have ever seen. If no stars were possible that is the rating I would give.

Dr. Huiming (Sooki) Hon has been my Gastro. Physician for several years and her care has been nothing short of exemplary. From her bedside manner to her attention to detail and genuine expression of concern for my health, every single aspect of her care has been of the highest quality. As such, I strongly recommend her and am grateful I found her when I did, by a 'happy accident'.

I was referred to doctor Hon when it was determined I may need a liver transplant. The referral credentials was that she had experience with the Emory transplant team. I was under her care for approximately 1 year. In that time I got progressively more fatigued and out of breath. It got to the point I had to use the hallway walls to lean on just to get to her office. I could not walk more than 5 steps without getting out of breath. She continued to tell me to exercise (I was overweight) and get a job. EVERY time I went to see her I explained I could not even walk to the bathroom, let alone go jogging. I gave up on Dr Hon and went to see my primary care physician. He identified immediately I was oxygen deprived and sent me immediately to a cardiologist who on sight diagnosed me with a LIVER related disease called HPS. It is not uncommon and has a short mortality timeframe. I was promptly put on the transplant list and was transplanted within 2 months. In speaking with Dr Hon… after my accurate diagnosis by non LIVER doctors she said “I failed you”. Under her care I would have died. The lost time in my life, the pain the illness put my family through can never be recouped. All I am left with from her care is bewildered anger. I do not recommend her based upon her profiling me, her inability to listen to symptoms, and flat our missing a diagnosis that is within her specialty.

Dr. Hon is an amazing physician. She is knowledgeable, kind and has an excellent bedside manner. Dr. Hon took the time to explain every step of my colonoscopy and answer all of my questions. The entire experience was excellent. There is not one thing that I could point to that could have improved the experience...other than the eliminating the prep day. Ha Ha :)
