Dr. Huiquan Zhao, MD

I was born in Harbin, China, where I finished college and medical school. I then went to Europe for part of my PhD training as well as special training in genetics. In 1991 I came to Ohio, where I became a faculty member of the Dermatology Department at the University of Cincinnati and then had training in general pediatrics and clinical genetics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2002 and have enjoyed being a general pediatrician and clinical geneticist here. I am the only pediatrician at Fontana Medical Center to have a clinic specifically for children who are overweight. I provide care for the entire family in many ways, such as giving guidance for a healthy lifestyle, taking care of medical problems, and offering support in times of stress.
