Dr. Humaira Khalid Lateef, MD

I originally went to see Dr. Lateef at her previous practice myself and I was pleased at how prompt she addressed my concerns. I decided to try bringing my children to her, everything changed. Keep in mind, my children are well cared for and haven't missed appointments for anything, they have everything they need and more, they are loved beyond comprehension. It started with little comments to my youngest child about her nail beds, she had just come from art class in school to the appointment and Dr. Lateef began making snide comments about how awful it was that her nails were not clean underneath. I tried to brush it off as a cultural difference. But every appointment there was endless ridicule on multiple different levels about things that happen when children are being children. Then I began noticing that we were paying excessive co-pays. Their father and I juggled visits and every time we came in we were told we had copays from previous visits. We compared receipts and found we… had paid double and triple for more than 6 visits over a year (3 children who play sports) Then my oldest went in for a stomach issue. Dr. Lateef could not cope with the fact that she is extremely shy with people she's not comfortable with. She proceeded to try and corner my daughter aggressively asking her if we were abusing her (at the time we were in the middle of a court case from an assault she had suffered previously and were under strict guidelines from the prosecution to not discuss matters with ANYONE, out of fear of coercion in the case) we explained to Lateef that she cannot be questioning her in that manner and that she needed to stop immediately and she still continued her aggressive questioning to my daughter and even tried to kick us out of the room and accused us of being guilty. She broke my daughter down to tears and shaking. She said she needed to talk to my daughter because "parents lie". A few weeks later we are contacted by our daughters counselor and our prosecutor because Lateef called them relentlessly trying to get information on the case and they told her what she was doing was illegal and that we (the parents) were right in telling her to stop. Soon after my youngest had a stomach ache. We went in for a sick appointment and she requests blood and urine from their on site lab, we go and with a bit of a struggle we get both. Rather than waiting for results she tells us to go to flower hospital. We get to flower and pay her $200 copay to be asked "why are you here? " we explain it was what Lateef had directed us to do. They ask if labs have been taken and we tell them yes and they ask about results and we tell them we hadn't gotten them back. They stated it made no sense for us to be there because there's no results yet. That she should have waited for evidence we needed to be there. So they request permission to get the results, Lateef refuses to send them. We waited over 2 hours and the hospital made the decision to give up on trying to get the results and we had to subject my youngest child to another round of testing including blood draws which resulted in myself and 2 other staff having to restrain her as she was in absolute terror. They ended up placing an IV because they didn't want to have to torture her any more in case the results came back questionable. Within 30 minutes her labs came back clear and they did a full abdominal exam (something Lateef was capable of doing herself in office) and found she was a bit constipated... that was it. Fast forward to today, my oldest was experiencing a bit of swelling and discomfort in the chest. We had discussed before going in how we would proceed in the office and I was asked to speak on my childs behalf because they were not comfortable speaking with Dr. Lateef. Dr. Lateef did not respond to this very well and proceeded to cut me off and tell me she wasn't speaking to me, she was addressing my child (after my child had already told her that's what was wanted) a minor physical exam and questions and my child leaves the office with the diagnosis growing pains. Meanwhile the pain and swelling has increased to both sides of the chest and so has the pain (went to urgent care, there was an abscess and infection under the skin) as we left the office her harassment of my child continued. She stood between myself and my child and held her shoulder and began aggressively questioning her if her parents are hurting her. Her reasoning for asking was because she was worried because she was quiet and shy. My child was the victim of an assault 1 year previously and suffers daily from PTSD due to it, all Dr. Lateef was doing is causing harm. That coupled with the fact that she's exceptionally quiet and shy when she doesn't like someone. I'm beyond fed up with this practice.

Dr. Lateef is an amazing and caring doctor. She actually listens to how you are feeling and the concerns you have on he day you visit.

I was very displeased with the service. she just sat on her computer while I explained the problems I was having, she never even checked me out after not seeing a dr for 8 years, she was quick to send me to xrays and give me a script that did nothing to better my problems, I would not recommend anyone. I even went back second time to see if things would be different and they weren't
