Dr. Huong Thi Lakin, DO

I started seeing her after the pandemic started, so at first I thought maybe she was overworked because of that. But after a while it became apparent that she just wasn't a good doctor. Would prescribe medications multiple times despite being told they weren't working, didn't communicate with the pharmacy so sometimes weeks would go by before they could even be filled. Ignored symptoms, rushed physical exams causing pain, just terrible overall.

My family transferrred with her to her SeaMar practice after she closed her private practice, because she is a caring individual. Unfortunately, she is still very disorganized, doesn't know why you are there, keeps you waiting for an hour, continuously creates refill nightmares and is out of touch. Not recommended due to lack of professionalism.

Ovet the past ten years we have seen the practice slide from attentative and caring to utterly disorganized. Too bad, apperently it is impossible to practice quality part-time healthcare.

Dr. Lakin has been my family's provider for 6 years now. I have seen the other reviews of her here and have know idea how they could be about the same person. She had been committed to my family's health care every time I have seen her. She sees you even if she is booked. If you need her she will make room. When I broke my leg she called and checked on me at home. This is the kind of doctor you will be happy to have.

I kept having horrible pains in my abdomen for several weeks, Dr. Lakin told me I was having panic attacks and prescribed me anti anxiety medication. Eventually ignored her advice and went to the ER since she wasn't any help. I ended up in having emergency surgery to remove my appendix. It would have ruptured if I hadn't ignored her advice and gone to the emergency room anyways. Her office was constantly closed so you could never get an appointment when needed.

When you go to visit Dr. Lakin she is more on her laptop then examining you and trying to get to know you. Very cold and doesnt know how to talk or treat the patient. Even with my children she's very unfriendly and just seemed to be bored at work. Her office is only open 3 days a week and when you call to schedule an appt. They either hang up on you or they ask you to leave a message. Wouldnt recommend this office to anyone not even my dog.

I went to visit Dr. Lakin and felt that she could care less about my condition and what the purpose of my visit was for. She didn't examine me at all for the source of my pain, and was more intrigued telling me why I shouldn't be in pain, then figuring out why I was. The clinic staff was alright, but definatly did not make me feel welcome. All around, a dissapointment.
