Dr. Hwaok Kim, MD

Dr. Kim often talks about other patients during my mothers office visits. Instead of treating her medically, she suggests that my mother prays and refused to prescribe medication, stating “have you found God yet?” On other visits, Dr. Kim made my mother pray with her in office. On NUMEROUS occasions my mother was not able to make appointments for weeks! Dr.Kim often told my feeble mother to go to urgent care, where she waited for hours. Eventually my mother would wait for weeks to get in to see Dr. Kim and by this time her health had severely declined. Horrible.

Best doctor i have ever had. She has been right about everything. Best of all she knows the Lord Jesus . Thankful i found her. Her staff is wonderful too.

You can never get a sick appointment with her. She always refers to urgent care. I have seen urgent care more than her in the last 4 years. Why have her? Her staff are rude and unorganized. When I went in for my appointment once, her secretary handed me someone elses chart for verification. I could have read the whole thing because she attended to something else. When I started with her as a new patient, the secretary called me back over 5 times because she had to ask Dr. Kim questions. Billing was completely off and I ended up paying the bill because of the back and forth. I even had to call my insurance company because they refused. My husband was dropped as a patient for missing 2 appointments at separate times. He works nights and overslept but called right away to let them know. It was a half hour over the appointment time. They claimed he never called when he did. I was ordered B12 shots and never once did they ask for follow up blood work. I found a friend to give me the shots… which was a severe inconvenience because I couldnt go to her office because of work and if I missed an appointment to have them done, id have to find other means. I would call some of my experience with this office unethical and incompetent. We have found another practice. Thank God.

The longest I have every had to wait is 10 minutes which is amazing.She is very thorough. I have a very long list of autoimmune disorders and had a very hard time finding a doctor that would even take me when my old doctor retired. She always does testing before giving new meds. She is also very knowledgable about vitamins and natural health alternatives. I was a little taken off guard when she talked about her religious beliefs but I can overlook that. She is the only doctor that has every called me back herself which I love.

Dr. Kim is a wonderful doctor, very caring and easy to communicate with. I've been a patient for over 10 years and I feel completely comfortable with Dr. Kim's ability to diagnose any issues I bring before her.

Un professional. We lie to patients. Her office staff are incompentent andb mean. Please stau away from this doctor.

Dr.Kim cares about her patients on a personal level as well their medical reasons for coming to her. She takes her time with you and never makes you feel rushed. I suffer from Fibro and she is the only doctor that has listened and helped me manage the condition. As for the staff I go to see the doctor not the staff.

Poor bedside manner. Does not listen. Does not try to get the big picture and only deals with what she picks and chooses. Makes patient feel like they are doing something wrong.

Dr. Kim is wonderful. She is by far the most thorough physician I have ever had. She doesn't make quick decisions about your situation. She takes time to think and research. She has called me back after hours, and on weekends to share her findings and solutions. She is not quick to medicated, but to find healthy, natural alternatives, depending on the situation at hand. I know that Dr. Kim has my best interest at heart. Yes, she does have a strong belief in religion, but I know not to take things too personally either. I have given Dr. Kim's name and contact out to friends and I will continue to do so. She hasn't given up on me and I will not give up on her. We don't always agree, but I look past that and know that the end result for my health will be great. I feel that she is very professional, caring, kind, compassionate and competent. I have been a patient of Dr. Kim's for 8 years. She was referred to me by a patient of hers for about 12 years.

I've been a patient of Dr Kim for over 5 years. What I liked the most about her was that she wasn't the type to make hasty assumptions and put on you meds you may not need. Instead she'll look at all aspects of what is going on in your life; nutritionally and emotionally as well as physically, and try to get to the root of your ailments. You can expect her to err on the side of caution, and she always seemed genuinely interested in your well being. This is something I really respected and appreciated about her until recently. She is an openly spiritual woman of her faith, which is fine, but while understand she wants to incorporate that in her everyday life, there were a few times where I felt she crossed the line on that professionally, especially during my most recent (and probably last ever) visit. I saw a very cold, patronizing side of her that had never seen before. Based on an inappropriate comment she made to me about information she told me she got from my soon-to-be… ex-husband, who is also a patient of hers, I felt she was judging me for a choice I made that happened to go against her beliefs. Besides feeling like confidentiality would now become an issue, (since it apparently went out the window on my exs behalf) I felt very judged and uncomfortable, and no matter where the conversation went during the visit, I felt she acted very cold and condescending towards me. She seemed to dismiss my concerns as if they were idiotic, and the way she stated her observations and opinions of my health that day were very blunt and almost seemed accusatory. As soon as I left the office, I burst into tears. Up until this particular visit, I was recommending her to people left and right, and even though she may have tried a few unconventional ways of reaching out to me, (prayer, religious reference material, etc.) I knew she had my best interests in mind, even though she and I may not be on the same page with our personal beliefs. Unfortunately this incident went too far, crossed the line and was very unprofessional. Im cancelling my next appointment with Dr. Kim and am now on a search for a practice that will treat me with respect and compassion regardless of my beliefs and lifestyle.
