I was extremely disappointed to discover that Dr. L-S left KCH! She did a colonoscopy and an endoscopy on me. She also removed my gall bladder; all three procedures, with no complications and some of the best bedside manner I’ve ever experienced! The amount of time she spent with me, explaining each procedure, was phenomenal! There was an issue (for me!) before my colonoscopy; I can’t even remember now what it was; but I had concerns about some part of the procedure. No problem, she said! We just won’t do that! Like I said, I don’t even remember what it was. She just made me feel completely comfortable! Fortunately, I won’t need another one for 10 years. Unfortunately, for me, I won’t be able to have her expertise and kindness again. Whoever has the pleasure of her services, you’ve got a top notch physician, in my estimation! And, I recruited physicians for a living ??

Dr. Laidlaw-Smith is a rock star surgeon in my estimation. In 2014 she diagnosed and removed my cancerous appendix laparoscopically and it was enormous. Two and a half weeks later she followed up with a right hemi-colectomy, also laparoscopically and I was out of the hospital within two days with no complications! She also has done several colonoscopies for me. I was devastated when she moved but would highly recommend her to anyone in her new area who needs a wonderful surgeon. Great bedside manner; she takes time with her patients to explain exactly what she'll be doing and why.

Are you kidding me, she has messed up more people in Knox County than anyone will ever know without digging into the truth. Your taking a major chance should she ever operate on you.

I am devastated to hear that Dr. Hydi is no longer with Knox Community Hospital. She is a rock-star surgeon in my estimation. She has done several colonoscopies on me, as well as removed a cancerous appendix and done a semi-colectomy on me, all laproscopically with no complications whatsoever. Is she anywhere nearby? Can I still see Dr. Hydi?

Best doctor! We are going to miss her. Where did she go? Worth the wait.

Dr. Heidi is an awesome Surgeon and Person...I have had the pleasure of her company on many occasions, (Working at KCH) she has excellent bedside manner and is full of great information and knowledge when needed...Thank you Heidi,,, You are awesome....V Paulino.

EXCEPTIONAL! I love Dr. Heidi. I was her first patient when she arrived in Mt Vernon. As a result I have seen her several times for other issues. She has a bed side manner like none other and leaves no stone unturned. She spent the necessary time it took for me to understand fully my situation. Never once have I felt rushed or as if I was interrupting her day. She is, bar none, a top notch Doctor. Love her!
