Dr. Hyetae Kim, MD

This man could not care less about his patients. Amen he is no longer with the VA. The man should be in the news for his lack of quality care and professionalism.

I joined Dr. Kim's clinic when my Primary retired. I had one visit. He dictated with his back to me the entire time and did a 5sec listen to my lungs. I have personally worked in medicine for 2 decades but since writing my own scripts is illegal I still have to have a Primary. I can promise you there is no way possible to hear all four lung fields and the heart in 5sec. It takes me 30-45 and longer if something is wrong. He refilled all the meds I was on and that was that. (As a 100% Disabled Vet and Cancer survivor I am on a lot of stuff with a bunch of specialists) 2mos later he drops an antihistamine for nausea by half with no explanation. I get sick, end up in the hospital, and call him. I got a rude message from the nurse that he doesnt think you need that much. Yeah. Well after many issues I get a referral to a GI. (Mind you none of my meds are controlled or abusable.) The GI freaks and reinstates everything the way HE (same specialist) had originally ordered them. … Kim blocked the specialist's ability to prescribe. Dont ask me how a family medicine doctor can block a GI specialist who is Emeritus at the biggest Digestive Care Place in the state. But VA has strange rules. I sent 28 messages, made 15 phone calls, and physically went by 3 times. No response and no refills on the meds Inhave taken for years which is crazy for blood thinners and blood pressure drugs. If someone can find a way to abuse those I am all ears. Finally today after 2mos of being very very sick Insent one last message. 2min later his nurse responds "Dr. Kim no longer works here." Which, is VA-speak for fired. It takes 2 weeks to be formally assigned to a new provider and I refuse to waste taxpayer money on an ER visit that isnt an emergency. My new Doc called me and said flat out he would restore everything and I quote "have no idea what that idiot is smoking." So yeah. Not a stunning endorsement from a fellow physician. But, I want to protect future patients from becoming victims and possibly doing something life altering (using heroin if pain meds cancelled etc) just because of their provider's arrogance. Be well.

We liked this doctor from day one. He is pleasant, takes a lot of time with his patients, and is a good listener. His staff also are just plain wonderful!! We have no complaints at all.

Arbitrarily attempts to change/stop medication. Attempted to send me to a consult that I had had a few months prior. He wanted to see if I really needed to continue to take the depression meds I was on. One of 3 meds he listed in my med record I was no longer taking and had not been for months. More importantly he arranged for this consult without talking with me. Tried to "strong-arm" me into the consult by having nurse call me and telling me no more refills on meds unless I went to consult and the consult said I needed to continue with the meds.

Dr Kim is good but his staff is very rude. You can hear them while you are waiting in the exam room talking and playing around. There is one named Amanda always complaining and talking about getting her hair done and she bashes and talks crap on the people calling in. She will not help you and when I called today for Dr Kim she said she would see if the doctor would call in a refill of antibiotics she said we will see if the Dr will get to it. She would not even tell me when they closed. and acted like she was blowing me off. I like the Dr and he is very good and kind and has a great bedside manner but his staff makes me think about changing because they are really unprofessional.

I went to this dr for a simple physical he ended up insulting me cussing at me and calling me a lazy liar and after all that he did very little more than take my vital signs I've honestly have had more medical advice from a empty bottel of tums I don't suggest you or loved ones to visit
