I had an absolutely horrible experience with this provider. He billed me for 2 separate "office visits" when I had a single 30-minute appointment. I was only supposed to have the 1 office visit for an annual physical, so I was shocked to get a bill 3 weeks later saying he had charged $897 for 30 minutes of his time. I spent 2 months trying to communicate with the office to get clarification on why I was charged so much, especially when I had expressed not wanting any additional services other than what was covered by my insurance. After weeks of not receiving any call backs, I insisted on speaking to the office manager and was informed I was charged for a 2nd office visit because the doctor had asked about previous medical history and we had had a discussion about that. Somehow that 5 minute conversation merited an additional $500 charge. I have never been charged additionally for this type of conversation before. I spoke to other doctors about the situation and they did say it… was odd and seemed like the provider was trying to get as much money out of his patients as possible. The appointment itself was luke warm. I definitely felt rushed. The provider was about 30 minutes late for the appointment and I was left waiting for a long time during the appointment. While speaking to the provider, I did not get the impression he cared about me, seemed more like he was trying to get the appointment over and done with. If you do choose to use this provider, I recommend you enter the appointment being very clear about what types of charges your insurance covers and what you expect to be billed so that you are not left in a financially difficult situation.
