Dr. Ian Dunn, MD

The video call with Dr Dunn went very well but he did not have the images he needed to complete our conversation. He stated once he received all the MRI images he would set up another call with us. I later had another call from an ARNP and her first comment was," I understand you have some questions ". I asked her if she had all the images and if she or Dr Dunn had reviewed them. She then reviewed them but said she didn't know if Dr Dunn had reviewed them. As the meeting continued, I asked if a full MRI of my spine and a head Angio were needed and she replied no. Two days later I received a request from OU to have a MRI of my spine but still haven't talked with Dr Dunn again and get answers to question the RN was unable to answer. It seems there was confusion between your in house communication.

I believe Dr. Dunn and the resident cared deeply. They had a couple of ideas of what my tumor could be, but did not have a definite answer. I didn't get any more answers about the lesion that I hadn't already gained from my own research before the appointment. I am thankful for how they listened to my concerns and were willing to run blood labs. The PA tried to take my blood. I, typically, do not have any issues. I showed her where I usually get drawn from. She lightly checked one vein and not the other same location on the other side. She tried to take it from a location where I never give blood. It was painful, yielded very little blood, and she eventually had to stop trying after I almost fainted. That was the only time I felt that I wasn't listened to during the appointment.

The doctor was not helpful. His bedside manner was poor. He did not complete a chart review before seeing me. He did not want to help me with symptoms. I was very disappointed and will never come back.

Dr Dunn is devoted to patient care and saved my life. Couldn’t recommend more. Very knowledgeable and never dismissive.

Waited over 3-hrs for my appointment to see Dr. Dunn. That office is so disorganized and rude......Instead was told to see his PA and then I would see him after. He FINALLY arrived and spent like 10-mins. with me, and said that his Clerical Assistant would call me to make a future appointment for the Radiology department for further tests. Never got a call from the Clerical lady, Instead the Radioloy Dept. left me a voice mail that they scheduled my date and time already. Never ok'd it with me. Just said see U then. I of course called Radiology up the next day, and Cancelled it, and the girl was mad too. Dr. Dunn then personally called me on my phone talking down to me, and being very rude and Godly like with his answers to my questions for this particular X-ray that his Hospital has only done on #3-patients EVER (cistonogram with pledgets). I said i have a life too, and you cant just leave a date, and time on a voicemail and give them a day's notice to be their. I said what happened… to his Clerical girl calling me to set up my appointment. He says, oh she must of forgot, she has a lot on her mind, a family member just past away. Really, give the girl some FMLA so she can grieve at home. Its not fair to the patients or her. Needless to say I was not going to be his little ginny-pig and never rescheduled that appointment. Dr. Dunn has the most Narcissistic, worst bedside manner i have ever spoken to or met! I heard he moved to Oklahoma where he is now the Chief guy there. Good spot for him on his high horse, of being a know it all. Now he can tell everyone what to do because he says so, because he's a Professor and he's in charge!

I ignored the bad reviews figuring the reputation of the doctor was worth it. So wrong. 9:30 appointment, the doctor ended up having a emergency so did not see us until almost 12:30. i get that, can't be helped. He is rushed and spends not even 10 minutes with us. He refers us to a neurologist. He says his office will make the appointment. MacKenzie says she (or the Neurology Dept) will call us. I ask if I can call, she says no it is fine, they do it. Easy great service right!? They never call. Come to fine out he never wrote down the recommendation. So I call after 3 weeks and ask (since it is taking forever) to get a referral to Mass Gen instead since that would save me 45 minutes in driving. They say they will not refer to another hospital even thought they are sister hospitals and affiliated. I then ask about going to one off their doctors and she said she had no idea we needed or wanted see a doctor. it has now been 5 weeks wait. Mass Gen won't see us because Dr. Ian… won't refer us and did not right it in his notes which they can see. And I am waiting to get an appt at Faulker (a 2 hour drive instead of 1 hour). Totally screwed and waisting months all with a constant severe headache and other issues due to pineal cyst.

I can't imagine that Dr. Dunn receives anything but five-star reviews. I just had MVD surgery for trigeminal neuralgia. The procedure was fully explained to my family and me. He's both kind and extremely competent. He's also very humble. I have MS and he fully consulted with my MS neurologist before going ahead with the surgery. He and several members of his team checked on me several times during my hospital stay. My surgery was on a Friday. He came to see me on Saturday and on Sunday. Both he and Dr. Bi talked to my family and me about how the surgery had gone. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Dunn, Dr. Bi and every other member of the team. I also don't understand the comments about his office. His administrative assistant responds to all of my emails within an hour. Highly recommend.
