Dr. Ian Samuel Goldbaum, MD

Bad Doctor..This guy will have you coming for prolonged, unnecessary visits in order to give you unnecessary injections each time. I finally got wise to his ‘‘get rich” operation when months down the road my condition became worse than when I started, losing confidence in his methods and ability. He’s a good salesman with questionable ethics. My advise...stay clear.

As you’ve probably read in some other reviews. This doctor loves to give injection after injection after injection. Being a type 1 diabetic these steroid injections blew my blood sugars into the 300 to 400s, for a week to 10 days after each injection. Yet this doctor wanted to continue. I spoke to my Endocronoligist and he said to stay away from this guy and find yourself a Real doctor. Only interested in extended treatment, not curing your problem.

The care I received from Dr. Goldbaum was good, unfortunately a mistake from his ancillary staff left me very disappointed. I was told very clearly that they took my insurance but when I got billed from my insurance company this was Not the case. The bill was sizable and there was no negotiation with the Doctor.

Went to Dr. Goldbaum for a few years. Neuropathy and arthritis in foot and toes. He said I needed a $600 "special" orthotic. Wore it since he prescribed it with no improvement and, in fact some further deterioration of condition. He hired another Dr. into his practice who said orthotic not doing the job. He made alterations to existing orthotic and Goldbaum said he would send it to Chicago to have new one made. Either he lost it or was too cheap to insure the orthotic or to send it Fedex and company in Chicago said they never received it. He had nothing to show he sent it. Got a call from his office telling me he wanted me in his office at particular time (AT HIS CONVENIENCE) to have new casting made. As I have ill wife and and leaving on trip, I agreed to come "at his time" but told his staff I would leave at a particular time because my wife had urgent visit with a different doctor. I told him I had to leave and he replied that I had to wait until he finished with all… his patients for him to make the mold. When I said the mistake was his and he should accomodate me, he threw me out if his office. Must say his staff is very good but Goldbaum has monumental ego and making a mistake is something he obvioulsy never does. Also tried to get me to try machine he claimed would take my pain away. Told me he could rent it to me for a month for $700 to see if it worked. Machine cost $4,000 to buy. Checked online. Manufacturer sold the machine with 30 day trial risk free time period. Net takeaway is that he really did not help me (injection after injection after injection) and when he screwed up, I still had to dance to his tune.. Ratings are hard to do - he might only be a 2 star or he could be 4 star...by someone else's standards but certainly not by mine.

Great office staff, teamwork all around ! Dr Goldburg was very good at explaining my problem to me but ever better at correcting it. I went in for an office visit and left having had a procedure done immediately to correct my problem, with medication and instructions in my hand. I would give Dr Goldburg an A+ rating and highly recommended him!

I called Dr. Goldbaums office to inquire if they were on my insurance. Secretary said yes. I made appointment, gave my insurance ID and again secretary says doctor is on my insurance plan. I ask what my copay will be and she says she will check and call me back. She calls me back to confirm appt but not copay. I again ask and she says she doesn't know how to check but will call me back. I again ask before appointment on phone a few times and while I'm at office filling out paperwork, she says she will let me know but never does. She says "if were not on your insurance, we won't bill you". Knowing that I can't count on that, I call my insurance and find out that doctor really isn't on my insurance after all. I have no idea how that could have happened when I gave my ID before the appointment and asked so many times. I wasted time and gas money because of the incompetent information I was given. Thank goodness I had the foresight to check with my insurance first to avoid a huge bill… later that no doubt dealing with the office staff later would have been an aggravating experience. However, the doctor was great and very nice and examined my foot for a minute to just make sure it wasn't infected and inform me of the treatment plan he would have gone with. I wish he were on my insurance plan because he seemed highly competent, unlike the staff. The next day, I called back with additional questions about that treatment and the office staff could not answer the simplest questions about it, I had to repeat the same question over and over with no real answer. Then when I asked why I was told over and over that they accepted my insurance plan when they actually didn't, they said they take my insurance but not my plan. I had to explain that it doesn't go by insurance but plan, and although they apologized, they still didn't seem to get it. So, the doctor was wonderful but the experience with the staff was really bad and because of that, I wouldn't go back.

We moved to Boynton Beach about a year ago. My mother needed a new podiatrist so I took to my usual internet search. It led me to Dr. Goldbaum in Boynton Beach. I made an appointment and was scheduled few days later. Dr. Goldbaum is extremely friendly and very professional. He took care of my mother's needs right away. Since the first time we have also seen him in his Delray Beach office and most recently in his new Boca Raton office. It's great that he has these locations because he will usually be available at any one at times that fit your schedule. The new office in Boca Raton has the same friendly staff as his other locations. Easy and convenient to reach. Need help for your feet, call Dr. Goldbaum. Your feet will thank you.??
