Dr. Ian Oliver Kates, MD

Ian Kates, MD, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatrician. He provides care for children and adolescents from birth through age 18, including well child visits and sick visits as well as diagnosing and treating illnesses. He also treats behavioral issues and sleep conditions. And he offers counseling on feeding, sleep, immunizations and developmental milestones."I'm interested in the wide variety of general pediatrics with a specific interest in asthma," he says.He earned his medical degree from The Boston University School of Medicine. After medical school, he completed a residency in pediatrics at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, where he served as chief resident.Dr. Kates is an accomplished researcher and presenter, contributing to a number of quality improvement projects and presentations.A native of Illinois, he moved to Boston to complete his medical education.
