My blood pressure spiked last evening, so I went to the ER since I am on BP medication and have a history of problems. By the time I got to the ER it had come down since I had taken additional medication, but I had no idea what was going on. When he came in the room his first comment to me was "what now?" He didn't examine me, didn't check my heart rate or any kind of treatment. I was shocked at his attitude and tried to explain what had happened but the way he spoke to me made me even more upset about my BP. He asked if I brought in my BP machine which I didn't, that was the last thing on my mind. I told him it had been high at home, and he said "It wasn't here." He also said that it wasn't an emergency, and pretty much dismissed me. I asked that my BP be taken again and he refused, leaving me again questioning if I was going to be ok. This was definitely an emergency since my BP was very high when I took it at home. I wasn't comfortable leaving without knowing that my BP… had come down to an acceptable level.

Was indifferent, dismissive ..and callous to my delema..did not provide needed medicine for pain management...told me flat out I wasn't getting required laboratory and refills. I was left in excruciating pain for months with the VA and this guy sends me away with nothing knowing facilities will be closed for Juneteenth. VA ER visit 1230am June 19, 2025
