Dr. Ian Dugald Weir, DO

Misdiagnosed me with sleep apnea. He kept treating me for it while nothing was working. He did not listen to me, did not take what I told him seriously. Any information contrary to his diagnosis was dismissed. Even told me I slept well during a sleep test when I told him in fact I slept badly. Another sleep specialist diagnosed me correctly with clinical depression. But by that time I already lost my job and was suicidal. This could all have been prevented had I been diagnosed correctly at the time. Also was told one time to wait three months for an appointment because he was 'doing the rounds' in a hospital.

I think it is best you stay away from this doctor unless you have standard sleep apnea.

I previously posted that Dr. Weir's office was unable to find my records. The records and the record release form were eventually found. The office staff explained that it takes time to locate records because the office has been through 2 different computer systems over the last several years. Dr. Weir is a fine doctor and this should have been the emphasis of my review.

I had a sleep study and consultation by Dr. Weir about 6 years ago. His office is unable to locate the records . The office is not even able to locate the consent form for the record release which was faxed to his office last week. Dr. Weir himself seems like a very decent person and physician.
