Dr. Ibrahim Jamal Samarrae , MD, MS

Ibrahim Jamal Samarra’e, MD, MS, is an interventional pain physician who treats a wide range of conditions, including neck and back pain, joint and musculoskeletal pain, neuropathy and nerve pain, and persistent pain following spine or joint surgery. With a background in physical medicine and rehabilitation, he takes a function-focused approach to care and uses minimally invasive, image-guided treatments to help patients reduce pain, restore movement, and return to the activities they enjoy. Having experienced injuries and setbacks himself, Dr. Samarra’e understands how frustrating it can be when pain interferes with the things you love. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys hiking, biking, working out, exploring new places, and unwinding with a video game. His philosophy is simple: “Less pain is the goal. More living is the point.” Dr. Samarra’e earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of New Orleans, Master of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from Tulane …University School of Medicine, and medical degree from LSU School of Medicine New Orleans. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and his fellowship in Pain Medicine at Ochsner Health, where he trained in advanced interventional techniques including fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided procedures, basivertebral nerve ablation, and spinal cord stimulation.
