Thank goodness he is seeing patients again. Love him

The first time I saw Dr. Lopez-Merino, I was nervous that he would not keep me on the medication that I had been on for >12 years, successfully. After talking to me and thoroughly evaluating me he agreed to try leaving me on the same plan. I saw Dr. Lopez-Marino for just <3 years. In that time I cannot think of anything negative to say. He was always pleasant, as was his wife/receptionist. They scheduled the appointments appropriately. I felt he was always there if I crashed in between appointment times. The only thing I hate is that after being in practice and helping people for 40 years, he has decided to retire. I hope he enjoys a happy, healthy, retirement.

I just read some comments that make me think they are referring to a different guy. Dr. Lopez Merino took care of my beloved mother, a Holocaust survivor victim, for the last six years of her life. She was very fong of him as he was always supportive and caring. Now I am his patient and all I can say is that I am still around thanks to him. Somebady wrote his English is poor... well. I was born in Brooklyn and I can tell for sure that his English is better than mine. Are we talking about the same doctor?

Although I give him credit for recommending that I take a Personality Test, when the results came in, he didn't go over them with me. He just told me to go see a therapist and sent me on my way. He wanted me to re-visit him only 3 weeks time which was unreasonable given the fact that I first had to find a male Psychologist which takes time and then needing a few sessions with him before coming back to Dr. Merino to give him an update. His assistant Lula also tried to rip me off, trying to charge me (since I'm self-pay) $120 instead of $80 because only the 1st visit was to be $120, each additional visit were promised to be $80 which she knew. She also told me she didn't receive letters from me which after further searching she did actually receive. Also a new script had to be written for a medication due to miscommunication due to their very heavy Spanish accent. He also wouldn't write a letter for me to the Dep't of Children & Families which another Doctor did for me. When I told him… that Dr. Merino fired me. He cannot take constructive criticism very well at all.

All this doctor can do is have you take xanax and rest on the couch. He has no idea the correct medication a patient should be on, then goes out of town leaving you helpless. A poor excuse for the psych community.

I was happy to read comments that reflected my experience at Westside Regional. The doctor refuses to spend time with patients, and will tell you to hurry up!!!! He is just a pill pusher, and won't consult with other doctors. How dare Westside Regional have a doctor on staff like this. He is demeaning to family members and private aides. He is a disgrace!

THIS DOCTOR BELONGS IN A PSCHY WARD HE IS A DANGER TO ANYONE WHO SEES HIM. IF YOU DO NOT SPEAK ENGLIGHS RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN OR DEMAND A DOCTOR WHO READ AND UNDERSTAND ENGLISH OR HE FORMS HIS OWN OPINION OF YOU WITHOUT INTERVIEWING YOU OR ASKING ANY QUESTIONS BECAUSE YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND HIM AND HE CAN'T UNDERSTAND YOU. I WAS FORCED TO SEE HIM BECAUSE HE WAS THE PSYCHIATRIEST ON STAFF AT WEST REGIONGAL HOSPITAL. HE WILL DO HORRIBLE THINGS TO YOU AND PUT YOU PLACES YOU NEVER WANT TO BE. ONCE I WAS ABLE TO TALK TO AN ENGLISH AND EDUCATED DOCTOR HE TOLD ME THAT DR. MERINIO MADE A HORRIBLE MISTAKE WITH MY DIAGNOSIS. RUN DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR HE IS A QUACK.!!!!!!!

This doctor cares about making his patients better

He is not a real profesional,he never have an answer to help you with words, only good to gave you medication without follow up if you have any kind of reaction, but if you have a wrong reaction and called to his office they say (is not he medication, probably you did something wrong) What kind of profesional do that? blame the patient

Excellent Doctor I personally know three persons that have gone to him and he has properly diagnosed and treated them.
