Dr. Igor Ilya Galynker, MD

Dr. Galynker has a warm, compassionate and approachable manner. He is very experienced and for the first time in many years my daughter feels like she is finally being seen and heard and most of all helped. His office staff is professional and Dr. Galynker is always available by cell when needed in times of crisis. He has taken the time to thoroughly review my daughter's intensive history and uses a team approach including pyschotherapy as needed. We are very grateful that we are in his care, and I mean "we" as his approach takes the whole family and the support system of the patient into consideration.

Our daughter is alive and healing because of Dr. Galynker. We cannot overstate the level of care he provided. When other doctors aggressively pushed extreme treatment for our suicidal, hospitalized, teen, Dr. G consulted by phone to address our concerns and discuss options. With no prior relationship, he talked with us several times after hours to advise on her care. We were terrified when she was released because COVID shut-downs limited her after-care options. Dr. G helped us assemble a care team not only to keep her safe, but also to help the entire family cope. Dr. G extended himself for us countless times, follows up, and goes above and beyond in all aspects. Originally Dr. G had been recommended to me by several people, and I have in turn recommended him to others. They have had similar experiences. If possible, I would give him ten stars.

I have been struggling with misdiagnosed psychiatric symptoms since I was 9 years old. Now, at 24, I have found Dr. G and have finally found mental clarity and emotional weight lifted off of me. He genuinely understands all of the symptoms that come with psychiatric disorders and approaches them with a warm heart. Dr. G saved me.

I suffer from periodic depressions. I was referred to Dr. Gaylnker while suffering from a depression last fall. I found him to be it only knowledgeable but also empathetic. His concern for his patients is genuine. I became frustrated and impatient because it was taking so long to find the right protocol. Dr. G always assured me that we would find something that would work and we did. His willingness to receive and respond to texts daily gave me comfort that he cared and a lift when I was feeling low. I recommend his services wholeheartedly.

Cold heart, not a doctor by calling

After more than a decade of seeking answers and treatment from therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists for our son’s depression we finally found Dr. Galynker. He has been a Godsend and I do not write this lightly. Dr. G was able to not only correctly diagnose him but begin a treatment plan that is working. Hi illness is not an easy one to treat. Dr. Galynker is not only excellent in pharmacology but is highly perceptive, caring and thoughtful. We cannot convey how appreciative we are to have found him.

In short, Dr. Galynker saved our daughter’s life. After years of misdiagnosis, hospitalizations, wilderness and therapeutic programs my husband and I came to Dr. Galynker for help with our then 18-year-old daughter. Despite the mood stabilizing medicine, she was severely depressed and suicidal. He and my daughter spent weekly sessions together and he soon diagnosed her condition correctly. He patiently worked with her in finding the correct “concoction” of medications. The process was long, arduous and complicated, sometimes involving multiple weekly “check-ins”, but Dr Galynker was continually there for us. He never tired of my unending questions and even served as a family therapist for all of us, including our older daughter. Dr. Galynker has given our daughter back the possibility of a stable and happy life. She has recently started taking college classes and remains in touch with him monthly to this day. She is comfortable with him and trusts him implicitly; in fact, she often… texts him with any question or issue. He is always quick to respond, which is amazing! Over the past six plus years, we have never met a more qualified, compassionate and intelligent psychiatrist and we have met dozens! I recently told him he should be cloned so more of those suffering could have his eyes on them.

Dr Galynker is knowledgeable and conscientious and stays with the patient mentally and practically speaking every step of the way. I recommend him without reservation as my family member who has primarily been seeing him has benefitted tremendously from his help.

I don’t know where I’d be without Dr. Galynker. I was mentally a wreck when I met him three years ago. I was just out of the hospital and I couldn’t control my own life. Not only did he find the right mix of medicines to stabilize me, he worked with me on a weekly basis to talk through putting the pieces of my life back together. I am now a mother to my daughter and back in a loving marriage. Whenever I have a question Dr. G is always there.
