Dr. Igor Richard Yusupov, MD

I met Dr. Igor for about 30 seconds after I brought my MRI cd to his scottsdale office. I then sat and waited for a long long long time ,like 1 hour past my appointment time...then between his flash introduction to meeting his assistant another 20 minutes? Nice fello...( the assistant) however I got less than 5 minutes with him including the 2 min exam. He said he viewed my cd and said I had some arthritis, I think he said a bulging disk? Not really sure what he said as there was no notes for me to reflect on...I should of had questions but I really had none. I just wanted to know if I had Spinal bifida that the original xray had diagnosed. ..or what had gone wrong to cause such horrible pain I could not crawl out of bed for weeks...just really bad situation for me. I got no real answer other than since I was feeling much better...there was nothing for him to do for me...then I got a $1665 bill for 60 minute consultation? What? What consultation...what 60 minutes of the doctors time.… What a total disappointment. Ridiculous fees!!! I still do not know the true condition I am suffering with...total waste of time and $$$

I visited Dr. Igor Yusupov after Dogs attacked me, and was very apprehensive about finding out I had spinal damage after an MRI, and physical therapy that was only causing more pain and numbness to my arms and shoulders and neck area, after all the trauma and not sure if I wanted to have surgery not knowing the outcome, I'm very pleased to have chosen Dr. Yusupov, he was very professional, caring and did a fantastic job on my surgery, my scar looks great which was another concern I had, having it in front of my neck, his assistant Alex is very thorough and wonderful, and took the time to answer all questions and concerns I had, I would definitely refer them to his office. It’s been twelve weeks since my surgery; I needed a spinal fusion in my neck to replace a desiccated disk that was pinching my spinal cord. The results have been great! I’m feeling like I have a second lease on life and I owe a priceless THANK YOU to Dr. Igor R. Yusupov, MD and the Arizona Brain & Spine Center team! Today I had to have my third c spine surgery. My first two were done in NYC by an excellent neurosurgeon in 2006 and 2010. Once again I was fortunate to have another brilliant neurosurgeon. Dr Yusupov and his PA Al were kind enough to put me at ease and answer any questions I had. Although I am in pain I understand that this will take a couple of days to feel better. This surgery was different than my first 2 in that it was a minimal invasive procedure and only involved c3-4, where my previous 2 involved c4-7. and we're complete laminectomy vertibrectomy . I highly recommend Dr Yusupov to anyone needing neurosurgeon.

Amazing surgeon

I was very caught off guard when I was advised that I would need t have surgery. Dr Yusupov was very patient with me, meet with me on several occasions just to answer my many questions and make sure I was very clear on my options. Not once did he push me in either direction. He was straight forward and very clear on what he was seeing on my scans. Advised what he felt was in my best interest but ultimately left the final decision up to me. Even the day of surgery after I was prepped and ready to go, he still took the time to answer last minute questions and never rushed me even though I knew hew was booked up all day. I cant thank you enough for being so straight forward and honest with me even though I did not what to hear a lot of it. Due to that it made it easy to feel completely as easy with you as my surgeon. Was not right after surgery. Was in hospital 5 days. Was told to go home or be moved upstairs. I went home. Passing out in severe pain. Office calls told me I'm not due back for 6 weeks. Would not see me. Went on ER for surgery to be told hardware in my back was moved to an optimal spot which left me numb from waiste down. Sent to rehab and home therapy and nursing to learn to walk again. No follow up from office at all.

My husband is a patient of Dr. Yusupov's, who treated him for a subarachnoid hemmorage due to aneurysm with a craniotomy. The only reason I know all this technical jargon is because the doctor took the time to explain everything without making my husband and I feel like an idiot. His bedside manner is impeccable, and between his care of my husband and my husband's ability to recover from things faster than normal left both men amazed at the results. I don't know what would have happened if my husband and I hadn't been where we were able to fall into Dr. Yusupov's capable hands, but I am forever grateful that we were. By the way, the wait time at the office? Simply because he was saving another person's life with emergency surgery. We were happy to wait.

For a man of such great talent and intelligence, Dr. Yusupov is a very humbled and kind man both with patients and with co-workers. I've met many physicians in my profession and for my personal healthcare; Dr. Yusupov is at the top of the list, hands down!
