Dr. Ihosvani Miguel, MD

I actually thought Dr. Miguel would be an amazing doctor for my fiancé which is why we wanted our follow up to be with him. We didn’t see him much in the hospital, but the times we did he seemed extremely pleasant. Well that took a horrible turn when I attempted to contact his office and him following my partners visit. I have never in my life been spoken to or disrespected like I was by Dr.Miguel by any other doctor or person in my life. First off, I had to call 6 times over the course of about 2 weeks to finally speak with an actual person. Then she stated she’d call me back within an hour or he would before the end of business hours. My fiancé was not doing amazing and so I called back, to simply inquire about prescriptions and what Dr Miguel prescribed him, refills and to se if we could at least get the dexcom..something…for the time being. The lady I spoke to said it’s after hours and she can’t help with that. After I expressed my concerns and explained to her I’ve been trying… for weeks to contact them, she escalated my call and had Dr. Miguel call me. Apparently this doctor doesn’t like to be “bothered” because he barely let me get a word in or ask a question and when I RESPECTFULLY asked him to allow me to vocalize my concerns and what I needed and stated something is just not agreeing with my fiancés body, he raised his voice and stated that he can’t do anything until whenever my appointment is scheduled, stated he’s caring for my fiancé and that I didn’t need to call after hours for this. And that’s when I lost it, I was so upset with his tone and how he raised his voice and what he said that I began to raise my voice and something hit me and told me to just hang up. I knew he didn’t care, and this misogynist doctor that is supposed to care and address concerns of his patients, was not going to hear me out and it was not worth it. I write this review, to warn you guys. If you want a doctor that genuinely cares and respects you, go elsewhere. Dr. Miguel showed his true colors and it is extremely disheartening, but I’m glad he did so before my fiancés follow up appointment.

I personally liked Dr. Miguel and found him to be knowledgeable and easy to talk to. However, because of the frustrations in dealing with his office staff, I don't know if I will return. 4 out of 5 times when I call the office, I get a recorded message telling me no one is available even though it's within office hours. When I attempt to leave a message, their mailbox is full. When they doy answer the phone they sound bored, unhelpful, and robotic, as if they wish they were anywhere else in the world. I'm still waiting over 2 weeks after a serious procedure to get the results. I've never dealt with such a frustrating and uncaring staff and for this reason I cannot recommend going there and wish Dr. Miguel would move to an office that is worthy of his talents.

This Dr is an amazing person he's always willing to listen even if he can't do more than that. I have a very complex auto immune disorder but with his help and care I have made great improvement. Total person health care is what you will find here.

prescribed victosa so I was a bit concerned....I'm about 12-18 lbs overweight and I believe it is for morbidly obese, or obese diabetics which I am also not. Perhaps I should have asked more questions.

Very happy with this doctor! Friendly, knowledgable, thorough and didn't Rush my time going over concerns. Staff was very friendly. Overall A+

I have found Dr. Miguel to be a genuine, caring doctor. He is knowledgeable and skilled at diagnosing and treating Type 2 Diabetes. He is thorough in his examination of feet and reflexes. He always reviews labs and makes adjustments to my medications as necessary. One draw back is the office staff. They are not very professional and never seem to know why I am calling or able to remember my concern from call to call. I've told Dr. Miguel about his staff, and will continue to give him feedback about their attitude and lack of professionalism.

I went to see Dr. Miguel after I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. This doctor is fairly decent. A little bit difficult to understand as he has a thick accent. But I didn't decide to find another doctor until after I spoke to his secretary twice. I wanted to reschedule my appointment. She was so rude to me and at first refused to reschedule. I hung up the phone. There was no point in arguing with her.

Please do not waste your time this Doctor is very nice but completely by the book. Does not take your complaints on what your feeling in your body. He's a number man. His staff is so rude and non professional. It's a staff of 3 including him. Please do your research!!! I wish I would have. Needless to say I'm currently looking for a new Endo because he's fired!!!!
