Dr. Ijeoma Nnechi Nnamani, MD

Dr. Nnamani is a caring professional who does exceptional intake with new patients. She takes whatever time is required to find out who you are as a person prior to treatment. Her waiting area is a relaxing environment and appointments are prompt. Very friendly staff.

Incredible provider! It is an absolute pleasure to go to Dr. Nnamani's office and I actually look forward to my appointments. She dedicates about 3x the time to each patient compared to a typical psychiatrist. For example, my intake and that of coworkers I referred her to was about two hours! It was great! Compared to other providers I have seen that were 30-40 mins tops. I felt thoroughly understood and that the Dr. is looking out for my best interest. Medicine management appointments are typically about an hour long, which again is about 3x more time you get with the Dr. compared to a typical psychiatrist. I've also received prescriptions for exercise along with medications that have made an incredible difference on my family life and on my ability to focus at work. Insurance/billing has also been a breeze; have not had one issue whatsoever. 100% recommend this office!

Avoid her. If you voice any conservative sentiment, she will harshly criticize. She is Nigerian, speaks with a very thick accent, and very left leaning. She bashes President Trump and has an anti-American bias. I’ve tip toed around speaking about anything topical and controversial, but been thrusted into nasty interchanges where I end up defending America to her during our appointments. she basically told me any trump supporter is a racist. If you bring up the subject of “America “, she will argue why it’s America’s role to take care of the world. If you are Pro-American, avoid this doctor. Example: she harbors resentments until we meet again, and will be noticeably more nasty and curt. even her last greeting to me was nasty. she asked how I was, I said, “win some lose some.” She goes, “oh that’s right, I forgot, you are always so pessimistic.”

I came to Dr. Nnamani with severe OCD, anxiety, and depression, and was at a very dark point in my life. I had been treated by many psychiatrists previously, and had never received a proper diagnosis or medication regimen. Dr Nnamani changed all that, patiently giving me proper care and a set of medications that finally worked. She quite literally saved my life. I would recommend her to anyone.

VERY POOR STAFF AND PHYSICIAN PROVIDER

I think she has a good heart perhaps likes too help. However, she is very aggressive, bullies you as a patient, inconsistent, does not change the medication to suit the patient. She gave me medications that have done very little for me. Very moody she swings from one end of the pendulum with her moods to the other. Never know what to expect from her.

My appointment with Dr. Nnamani was absolutely horrible. I’ve been on meds for depression for over 30 years and have seen several psychiatrists over the years and none of them made me feel so uncomfortable, scrutinized and judged as her. She spent more than an hour and a half asking me so many questions, many of them were extremely personal and not questions I was comfortable answering. I was there for medication management not to be treated like some first time mental patient in a psych ward! She typed all of my answers into her computer, which also made me uncomfortable. I don’t want all the details of all the horrible things that have happened to me to be in some strange woman’s computer!! I decided I would never return after only a few minutes. She was not personable and made me feel very uncomfortable and judged. Honestly, I truly felt violated after my appointment. I would never recommend her to anyone unless you want to be treated like a lab rat instead of a human being!
