Dr. Ila R Patel, MD

I have been a patient of this doctor for many years. She is so knowledgeable about mental health issues and the medications that have made my life livable. She takes all the time necessary for me and listens intently. A wonderful, caring, brilliant doctor.

First and final impression of Dr. Patel were the same. I wasn't impressed with her at all. She was to buisness like and didn't actually take the time to listen to my needs and problems.. In fact I once mentioned my medication wasn't working properly. I thought I needed it adjusted. Because my previous dr had had me on a much higher dosage then she did. So instead, she took me completely off it n put me on something I had taken in the past in told her it didn't work. Needless to say I ended up in a mental institution. Where they then put me on my right medication. She also took me off my sleeping meds & refused to give me one of my meds for my anxiety disorder. I then had to get it from my medical Dr. So in short. I wouldn't recommend her. I'm currently looking for a new psychiatrist at the moment..
