Dr. Ilona Elizabeth Jurek, MD

Dr. Jurek lacks the professionalism required to work with the public, let alone be a physician. She speaks to her patients as though they are beneath her, and instead of trying to treat her patients she belittles them. I will never return to this practice. I went in a time of need, overcome with anxiety, and terrified of taking medications. I was referred to as "the poster child for benzodiazepine addiction" when I hadn't even asked for anything. When I wanted to discuss treatment options and the difference between SSRIs I was told she "would not discuss pharmacology with someone who doesn't understand it" and when I told her I didn't think I would be coming back to see her she told me she "didn't think she could take it anyway". Working in medicine it is NEVER acceptable to treat a patient this way.

I am a new patient with this doctor. She is polite, attentive, listens, and has excellent bedside manners (which can be difficult qualities to find at times in regards to medical care). She seems so far to be very, very thorough in regards to labs, etc. Her staff always f/u via phone. Her staff so far, have been very patient, polite and helpful (when I was ill, they got me in quick and were very understanding).
