It’s a pleasure to be able to wholeheartedly recommend orthopoedic surgeon ,Dr. Illya Bendich. After many doctors, therapists, physiatrists, and various regenerative therapies I had close to 8 years of horrible hip pain And no answers. I sought out an orthopedic surgeon through BJC and chose Dr.Bendich. I can’t express how glad I am to have chosen so well! I’m pain free for the first time in many years thanks to his advice and expertise. Dr. B’s preparation protocol leading up to my total hip replacement surgery was thorough and all my questions were answered. I felt ready and confident by procedure day. Dr. Bendich is Knowledgeable, straightforward in his explanations, with a great bedside manner to match. My surgery was not only successful, but I am back to doing activities. I haven’t done in a very long time after only just a few weeks post surgery. I’m still surprised how good I feel And I credited this to having a superior Surgeon. Don’t be afraid of his being a little bit… younger than some of the other well-known surgeons. He is a terrific doctor, and I have to say it feels like he saved my life.

Would recommend Dr. Bendich to anyone considering a total knee replacement. My experience was exceptional with the doctor and his staff at Wash U. Very patient, kind and knowledgeable. He considered different scenarios for my particular situation, and performs both robotic and computer assisted surgical options. Honestly, it all felt very state of the art and went very well. My recovery has been better than I imagined and will definitely return for the other knee in the future if required to have a replacement.

My selection story is longer so I will be brief by saying I am fortunate to have found Dr. Bendich. Dr. Bendich, referred to in our house as Dr. "B" is graded with an A+. Worth noting is my wife was not able to attend my first office visit personally. Knowing she would have questions I could not answer or would not have known to ask, without his permission I called her and was fortunate to have had the two of them talk. Dr. "B" was receptive to discussing the surgery detail via speaker phone conversation with my wife included. Dr. "B" informed my wife and I what to expect. He communicated the risk, expected outcome and did not pressure us into a decision. Day three and four were not easy but I was walking without a walker on day 5. A few weeks later I had an allergic reaction to a product used and Dr. "B" and his team responded to messages left with the on call in a timely fashion. His staff, Katie and team are amazing. The staff replied via the BJC App in what I… consider short order. I am not 100% but where would I have been without Dr. "B" and teams expertise. Thank you Dr. "B", I am looking forward to being able to run again.

Dr Bendich replaced my left knee using the Mako robotic system. The surgery was a success. I am 12 weeks out from surgery and could not be happier with the outcome. If you are looking for an orthopedic surgeon look no further.

Dr. Bendich performed a very complicated hip replcement for my wife. He was amazing, 8 weeks out and could not be happier. Pain levels are all but gone and life is returning to normal. Amazing staff, especially nurses Katie Hand and Linda Russo.
