Dr. Ilya Kott, MD

Every time I’ve been here i feel like I’m not taken seriously. This is the second time I’ve come for severe back pain I’ve been having, and it’s gotten to the point where it’s difficult to walk. He saw me both times and refuses to even check me out after i tell him what I’m experiencing, just prescribes me meds. Last time i saw him all he did was lightly touch my back, then give me a muscle relaxer & pain patch. Nurse comes in & tells me dr kott wrote my discharge paperwork, i told her my back was still in pain and she told me “well the dr is done with his shift for the night, so go home and see if it gets better.” I went again for the same pain that had gotten worse, waited three hours for him to spend a max of ten minutes with me, just to do the same exact thing. Very upsetting as i feel like i am not being listened to.

This dr does not listen to his patients

I had brought my mother via ambulance to St. John's Macomb ER. Dr. Kott was exceptional in proper diagnosis and treatment planning to save her life. My family will be forever grateful for his good judgment, timely intervention and prayers.

Dr.Kott was absolutely AMAZING! He was very friendly and compassionate yet very professional. I did not have to wait long. He was also very clear and thorough while explaining "medical talk" to me. To top he it he took the time to make a personal call the very next day to make sure I was ok. I absolutely love him!!

I went to the St. John ER for female problems. Dr. Kott was rude abrasive and dismissive. He refused to listen to my complaints telling me that I shouldn't have come to the ER. I left, going to another ER where I was diagnosed with severely bleeding uterine tumors which I had emergent surgery to fix. He is the worst meanest doctor ever.
