Dr. Ilya Voloshin, MD

He did a very complicated rotator (5 tendons)cuff and bicep repair. I had excellent outcome. I went in knowing I might need a shoulder replacement due to the damage and age of injuries. I made him work very hard that day and it work out amazingly.

I was extremely impressed by Dr Voloshin. He read my X-ray and performed an ultrasound on my shoulder. Gave me his diagnosis and we agreed on how to proceed.

He spent 5-10 minutes with me and acted as if in a huge hurry. During that time, cut me off and did not let me explain circumstances of injury, recurring pain/issues, or my concerns. Did not touch/examine injury site. Insisted on giving injection without explaining the diagnosis, treatment, expected outcome, side--effects, or follow up plan, but led me to believe I could not have any further care without one, was made to consent in a split second. Was overall dismissive, abrupt, condescending, and left me in tears. Stay far away, do not give your time and money to this person.

The tech was just rude. Ask a question but had no time to listen to answer. Treated me with no respect. Dr was also in a big hurry. Never touched my problem area and had no interest in helping. Stay away and don't waste your time or money.

I had rotator cuff surgery in 2010. Dr Voloshin and the nurses etc were awesome. Described what they were doing each step of the way.He is very confident and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Voloshin. He performed an ACL reconstruction and was very patient with me and knowledgeable on the subject. He would take time to call me to answer questions as I was deciding what to do. He also was sure to call me after surgery to tell me how things went. His physician assistant was also outstanding. Everyone said that the ACL surgery was going to be a miserable experience. It wasn't a cake walk, but I was amazed at home little pain I had and how quickly I recovered. I would highly recommend him.

great doctor. Listened to my problems and took time to explain the treatment plan. I felt he really cared for my well being.

If you want a doctor who will listen and be courteous to your needs DO NOT GO WITH VOLOSHIN. He acts as though he is better than you and has no time to talk or answer questions. Avoid at all cost.

Dr.Voloshin diagnosed my issue (full shoulder replacement) quickly, explained everything, thorough in pre surgical check, visited me in hospital before surgery, chatted teassuringly, visited me that evening to see how i was doing, let me know how procedure went, and that his resident would check me in the morning. (which he did). Dr.Voloshin then called me when i got home to go over what i could expect, and encouraged me to contact his office should any need arise. In short, he could not have been nicer, more thorough. The results to date are phenomenal. I recommend Dr. Voloshin for both his professional care and his supportive interactions. It doesnT get any better than this.

I do know first hand that Dr. Voloshin in world class in his surgical expertise, no question of that. From the surgical aspect and the nearly invisible scar from my Ulnar Nerve surgery, I have no complaints. I did have an issue in follow-up where my casted and ace bandaged too tightly (my arm did swell as would be expected) and I could not get in to resolve my blue hand and dead-feeling arm from lack of blood circulation. When I did present, I experienced quite a bit of push back as if "what's the big deal?" This I'm sure was the result of my calling multiple times, explaining my hand was completely blue and needed to be seen before my follow-up in a week. They seemed incapable of figuring out how to get me in w/out speaking to Dr. Voloshin first? His assistant did not return my calls until I suggested I would seek assistance from the Emergency Department. That lite a fire under them. I never did see Dr. Voloshin post surgery- only his Physician's Assistant who was not very nice or… helpful in resolving the matter. One of the tech's finally came in w/ a saw and cut off the back of the cast that had cut into the back of my arm (Thank God!). While I am considering using him for a rotator cuff procedure because of his impressive surgical abilities. I want it done right and I want a highly experienced surgeon who does these frequently and well. I do not anticipate good customer service otherwise and I do see to some degree what people refer to in meeting w/ Dr.Voloshin w/ questions and the manner in which he responds. I would comment that I have seen some of that but then I tend to go in well educated so I can use his time to my best advantage and discover ahead of time what I can in terms of information w/ out his expertise. I do think that if I run into issues follow-this survery I won't monkey around trying to track down Dr. Voloshin and instead head right to a clinic or the ED to get appropriate medical intervention. That would have been much quicker than the last go around w/ post surgery issues and trying to get a simple cast adjustment. Overall, use Dr.Voloshin for his superior surgery and sports medicine knowledge. His strength lies mainly in that, lesser so in his bed-side manner and those who represent his practice.
