Dr. Imad Abumeri, MD

I was admitted to Bakersfield Adventist ER after I had a mini stroke. It was discovered after various scans, that I had a metastasized tumor with edema that required removal. Due to the Covid restictrions, I had trouble even getting a ICU bed, for after the surgery, but Dr. Abumberi went above and beyond to insure that I did receive the necessary surgery as soon as possible. I found him to be very compassionate, and concerned for my well-being for the during the complete duration of my care. I am happy to say that my surgery was very successful and I have complete compasity. He treated me as his own family and I am very appreciative.

I was just seen by Dr.Abuemri and he is not a Dr. That i would recomend. I told him about my pain and the length I've been having it and his answer was that i was depressed so now he is not only a neurosurgeon but he is also a phsycologist. Do not go to him find someone better. He is rude and won't let you talk he tells you what you what your symptoms are.

Dr. Abumeri was rude and disrespectful as well as implying my mom had no prior health care and we were using the hospital stay as free care. Wrong she has insurance plus a team of her own doctors. She wasn't feeling well we went to ER she was admitted. He has no bedside manner and just rude arrogant. I would never reccomend him.

All of these "5 star" reviews sound nothing like my experience with Abumeri. My mom had received surgery from him and now she is disabled. She had fusions done in her spine due to a number of things wrong with her back. JUST her back. She can out of surgery with nerve damage to her legs, artery disease, and drop foot. She has to use a walker now. My mom had received extensive back surgery from him, and a few days later she was sent home. No hospice, no after care. He didn't even put drainage bulbs in her back! After surgery, she could hardly get out of bed. She was hunched over and had sores all over her incision. We went to him afterwards, and he started yelling at her asking why she was there. She was trying to tell him she was in a lot of pain and he just sent her away. A month later, she was in the ER and they told her she had to be sent away for emergency back surgery at USC. The surgeon that he had never seen a surgery THAT botched. It was not fused correctly, her nerves were not… taken care of. She ended up needing ti have 2 more back surgeries because the first one messed her up so bad. Now she has no more bone to work with in her back, so if something happens then she's screwed. We even recently went to visit someone who used to work with Abumeri and was also in the OR when my mom was being worked on. He said that he saw what Abumeri was doing and had to leave the OR because he couldn't watch Abumeri mess up that bad. Please do not go see him unless you ABSOLUTELY have to. ALWAYS ask for multiple opinions! And do your research! I hope nobody ever has to go through what my mom went through.

I met Dr. Abumeri for the first time in his office. I was referred by my primary care physician. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I was very nervous. Dr. Abumeri conforted me. He made sure that the tree member of my family were well treated. He spent ample time explaining my disease and answering all our questions. Then he recommended the treatment plan and went over the risk and benefits of the surgery. He asks us to take a few days to digest this information. He made himself available in the future to answer any other questions at my arrive. Dr. Abumeri was very compassionate, gentle, with good manner. He also encourage us to seek a second oponion if we wish. In summary my family and I decided to have Dr. Abumeri operate on me. I was lucky that my tumor was benign and Dr. Abumeri removed it completely. He saved my life. And I highly reccomend him.

He is an amazing doctor.When my father fell down the stairs and broke his back. Other doctors didn't take him seriously. When we went to him, he did everything he could to help my father. If this would ever happen again I will go straight to him no question.

He was a splendid doctor and made my visit all the more merrier. He fixed my brain and my spine. Dr. Abumeri is charismatic, well-rounded, and has a great sense of humor. I recommend him to anyone needing surgery.

We dealt with him in an emergency situation. I am very impressed and would recommend him highly. His follow-up with me after my mom's surgery was excellent and he explained everything in great detail.
