Dr. Imanuel Lerman, MD

Does not care about his patients AT ALL! Honestly doctors who don't respect the oath of do not harm are the lowest humans imaginable. I don't know why he got into this field if he hates patients so much. I would NEVER wish this on my worst enemy. Do not go to this quack who does not care about patients. He's in it for the money and it shows. Disgusting behavior.

I have an atypical structural issue and after one of my procedures visits, I always feel human once again for weeks after. I will admit that he tends to be far more optimistic than I am resulting in me leaving in a better mood than when I went in. Staff is always super friendly.

UCSD Medical Center is now a world-renowed headache pain management center and Dr. Lerman is leading the way with breakthrough treatments for some of the most painful conditions a human can endure!

Worst type of Dr. patients are equal lab rats to him, He tried to manipulate me into me in a methadone study while I was between surgeries: With a straight face he: 1. lied about what the medication was 2. lied about it's research statues 3. recreated my health history so I would qualify 4. the medication is listed a 9 times more addictive 5. when I said no to the research stud, he rejected it, said I had no choice. Refused to release me from the pain program. it took me 3 months and four formal letters to admin staff... this guy is creepy... I am so grateful to the other honest staff who told me the truth about the medication and what it really was. Please be vary careful ... but also it doesn't say much about the UCSD pain program

This doctor is horrible. He had a treatment plan ready, before he ever saw me, or talked with me about the current ails I have been dealing with. I could have done this appointment over the phone and saved myself the added physical pain of sitting in the car in traffic for an hour. I was given an extensive questionnaire to fill out regarding my pain; he didn't look at it before deciding on a 'treatment plan' -- he simply collected it at the end of the appointment. Why did I waste time filling it out? I found him to be unsympathetic towards my chief complaints / reason for my visit, as well as abrupt and judgmental. There was no reason for me to physically be present at the appointment as he did no assessments, and did not seem to listen or understand my condition very well. His explanations for his treatment regimen did not make sense to me. I would never see this doctor again.

Tried to enter me into a medication study without my permission. When I discovered what was going on he said you can always just go somewhere else.
