Dr. Imtiaz A Chaudhry, MD

I'd like to take this occasion to describe my encounters over a year and a half with Dr. Imtiaz Chaudhry, which has turned out to be the most positive medical experience of my life. I first met Dr. Chaudhry when I experienced PVD (posterior vitreous detachment) symptoms. He studied my eyes with more care and attention and provided more clarity than the retina specialists I went to for the same issue. It was when I first met him that he pointed out the need for me to have ptosis surgery done as soon as possible. I have congenital ptosis, which over the last few years had become so bad that I had great difficulty functioning. My field of vision, as his tests showed, had greatly narrowed, and it had become debilitating for me. I am a writer, so I read and write nearly all of my waking hours. In the past I had been counseled at Jules Stein Eye Institute in Los Angeles and also in Cambridge, Mass. to have the ptosis surgery done, but I had declined earlier in life. I am the kind of patient… who does my own research from medical textbooks for any issue that arises, but in Dr. Chaudhry's case I felt instantly confident in his abilities, and had no dbout that this was the surgeon who should handle my eyes. He performed the ptosis surgery ten days ago, and I cannot describe how phenomenal the results are, both functionally and cosmetically. I feel like my eyes have gotten a new lease of life, and after the recent problems I've had with them, they should be on an overall path to health and healing. In my case, because I had such great difficulty seeing and was putting so much strain on my eyes, Dr. Chaudhry went for the maximum lift he could provide, under MAC anesthesia. He did the surgery at Memorial Hermann Hospital, where the entire team, from the first to the last person who took care of me, was exceptionally attentive, functioning as a team with Dr. Chaudhry. He started the procedure at 7:30 a.m. and finished at 10:00 a.m. I am so grateful for the amount of time he took for the procedure--during the surgery I was drifting in and out of consciousness as he asked me questions to evaluate what he was doing, and I could also hear him explain his methods to the resident physicians who were attending the surgery--and the results are no less than a work of art. I have a complete field of vision for the first time in my life, I no longer have to lift my head to see straight ahead, and the sheer amount that I can see without making any effort is a delight every moment. I can read and write without strain, and I know my eyes have been given a huge boost to keep serving me well for the remainder of my life. Dr. Chaudhry is an artist as much as he is a surgeon. Whenever I look in the mirror I am astounded by the newly youthful appearance and the perfect symmetry he has achieved despite going for the maximum impact. The recovery phase has gone very smoothly, after another helpful consultation with him. If you are looking for an oculoplastic surgeon in Texas, look no further. Each time I have been to Dr. Chaudhry's office--and I have bothered him more times than I had any right to do so--he has been extremely kind and taken as much time as needed to explain his logic and thinking. He also takes care to hire the best people, so be assured that you will be well taken care of from the moment you arrive at his office. Totally unconcerned about patients time! Had two appointments he was 3 hours late for both! Was not in surgery just late-no excuses or apologies. While on paper seemed very qualified he is very scattered -he gave me one diagnosis one day and after MRI did not confirm his findings he changed his description of the problem completely! Communication skills are poor-his records are terrible and his staff is totally clueless.

Dr Chaudhry is a highly talented doctor and extremely helpful. He takes out time to help out patients. I have given him only 1 star because of his office staff, otherwise i would definitely give him 5 starts. He really needs to teach his staff manners on how to deal with patients. His staff is extremely incompetent and slow and have no experience in dealing with patient problems. I think his staff has a very negative effect on him as a person. His office manager really needs some etiquette classes so she can help out patients rather than arguing and making everything an ego issue. I would definitely recommend him to every one, but only if they could surpass his office staff.

I suffered a car accident two years ago, my right eye damaged and lost Big part of eyebrows, most doctors have said there is no solution, and when I met Dr. Imtiaz assured me and made operational . I would tell him thanks and tell you that good-hearted and collaborator and I feel relax when he do the surgury to me :)
