Dr. Inga Lynn Grills, MD

this physician was never available to see me during my radiation treatments; she left it all up to her team who never identified my raging burn infection which resulted in me needing to have my right implant removed. very unhappy with the care I received.

She has a terrible bedside manner. For someone who has to work with cancer patients ever single day I would expect her to be a lot more compassionate and less condescending to her patients. She makes you wait a long time, every time, and then she’s always in a hurry to get you out of the room. If you ask her a question, she talks back to you like you are dumb for even asking such a question. She didn’t look at my chart or talk to her 5th year resident before she walked into the room, which by the way, he knew more than she did about my case because he did his due diligence, she sat that in the room and insisted that things didn’t make sense. For example, the right side of my face went numb only and the left side of my arm went numb only. The 5th year resident explained that that’s because of where the brain stem is located with my condition. She again pretended like she had never heard of this before and we were crazy of even thinking this could happen. I told her my other doctor… seemed to believe I had a stroke or seizure and she said I’m not sure why, you’re much to young for that and there’s nothing we could have done her to have caused you to have either one of those. After further research I found that the radiation from game knife surgery most definitely causes seizures, and that this is a common occurrence. It seemed like she was trying to protect her a$$ for some reason, which is always a red flag to me when a doctor starts acting like they’re hiding something. I decided that I wasn’t going to be held hostage by Dr. Grills and moved to a different doctor and your insurance should allow you to do the same. Unfortunately I developed seizures a year after she completed radiation on me and have them ever since.

I would never recommend this doctor. She very rarely met with my wife. The interns and staff managed everything. Unfortunately my wife’s esophagus was burned so bad from the radiation that it was impossible to swallow. After several attempts to enlarge the opening the esophagus developed an opening allowing stomach acids to leak to her lungs. She developed pneumonia and was put on a ventilator. After 5 weeks I was convinced that she couldn’t be saved so I allowed the hospital to turn the ventilator off. She passed away in 20 minutes. I blame myself for allowing this doctor to treat my wife.

Disengaged from the patient. Aloof bedside manner. Does not constructively problem solve to the benefit of the patient. At times has been misinformed on the information she shares. Do not look for this doc to “reach for the stars” for you. She seems lucky to just get to her appointments on time. You can hear her hollow sounding “Hello, how we doin’” to the patient in the next room and you just brace yourself for the brusque manner with which you are about to be greeted with when she comes to see you. She would have made a better researcher or scientist as she has no bed side manner to speak of nor does she have any people skills. She should not be seeing patients.
