Dr. Ioana Anca Bina, MD

Dr Bina is fantastic and I'm sorry that she's unable to continue with her practice. Only complaint is that the office staff never notified my that they were closing. I heard it through another source. Would have appreciated the notice to have time to find a new doc.

Office staff are rude and unhelpful.

I've had two prior gastroenterologists for my ulcerative colitis, and Dr. Bina is the first who has treated me not just with respect and thoughtfulness but also with humanity. My experiences with prior gastroenterologists were that they were focussed on their procedures, rather than the patient's wellbeing. From her thoughtfulness and willingness to work with me to find treatment solutions that I was comfortable with, to her warmth whether greeting me for a follow-up or procedure, puts her in the ranks of the few doctors that I'm willing to travel hundreds of miles for to see. I wish I could put a 6th star on "Bedside manner" below, because the entire office experience has been great, and I don't want to diminish the others to highlight that. But take it as given that there should be 6 stars for her bedside manner.

As a referring primary care physician I found her communication skills lacking. She did not communicate her findings, her diagnosis or impressions as to the patients condition with me either by phone or in writing. She was not willing to discuss her findings or recommendations with the patient over the phone but her staff told the patient that I had been sent the test results (sans recommendations). Certainly willing to accept payment for procedures but lacks follow up.

The staff and Ioana Bina were very nice and did their best to put me at ease, as first colonoscopy I've had since bad experience in my 20's. Pleased to say I didn't feel a thing!

Never too busy to see or to speak with your patients.Attitude that is positive, upbeat, and comforting to all. Your concern for your patients, Dr. Bina, is a gift others can't compare. Your patience, skilled hands, gentle touch and ability to see beyond is rare. Thank you !

Dr Bina is a very caring knowledgeable phisycian. I have been her patient for a while now, and I would recommend her to anybody that has a need for serious expertise .

Dr Bina is one of the best doctors I have had the chance to come across! She was referred by my family doctor a few years ago and she performed a few procedures on me, and also keeps me on an ongoing treatment that really made my life easier. I can compare her knowledge and skills because digestive problems are for me a life long ordeal , so I have had quite a few trials with doctors . Understands and explains thoroughly every single aspect of your given condition. Not only that I trust her but quite a few family members and friends are now her patients and they thank me for the referral!

I am an overweight retired nurse that put off having a colonoscopy due to my weight. Because of other issues I finally had the coloscopy and am thankful that I did. I was comfortable with Dr. Bina. She was so nice and put me as ease. I had 2 polyps removed one of which could have turned into cancer soon. I feel that Dr. Bina saved my life in a way by putting me at ease and taking care of me. I appreciate her expertise and care. I highly recommend colonoscopys for anyone thinking they have a hemmerhoid that bleds once in awhile when they have a bowel movement. Get checked. It could save your life. I highly recommend Dr. Bina. She is kind and gentle and gets the job done with care and concern for your well being. I had heard nothing but good things about Dr. Bina from co-workers etc.

Dr. Bina was recommended to me by my primary care physician because I was experiencing rectal bleeding. After scheduling an appointment that took 2 weeks, I waited in the main waiting room for over 2 hours. I then waited in the exam room, alone, for over an hour before Dr. Bina finally came in. Our face-to-face visit lasted only 5 minutes. After describing my symptoms to her (rectal bleeding), her only follow up question to me was if I was homosexual. Then, without ANY physical examination or follow up investigation, she nonchalantly says, "I don't want to say the word, but it might be Cancer" and schedules a colonoscopy. This left me very nervous and incredibly anxious until the results from the procedure came back negative. This took over a month since the office visit. The results were communicated via a voicemail message on my cellphone by an assistant. When I called back to confirm, Dr. Bina was unavailable and the assistant was unable to explain the results. "I don't… know what that means". No one ever returned my call to follow up with a thorough explanation. In short, Dr. Bina's only investigation towards a possible cause of my condition was to clarify my sexual orientation. She then alluded to a very serious disease and scheduled a procedure that, maybe, could have been avoided with more thorough questioning and a simple, though slightly embarrassing, physical examination. When lab results were available, the office was completely unable nor wiling to explain the results. I would definitely not recommend her based on my experience.
