Dr. Iqbal Mahmood Mirza, MD

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Mirza. When I spoke with him the night before, I asked if I could apply lidocaine cream ahead of having him place an iv for outpatient surgery. He told me he would apply lidocaine jelly, but only did so for a few minutes after I reminded him, which was inadequate. Then he proceeded to inject lidocaine into someone with a fear of needles, which caused unnecessary anxiety ahead of my surgery. At no time did he demonstrate any compassion. Additionally, I believe he over-medicated me. I have almost no memory of the day following iv placement. I was barely able to stand/walk the remainder of the day/evening and almost fell several times. I don’t believe this should be the case after a one hour procedure.

Terrible experience. Still seething about it. Ruined my birth and new mommy period by his incompetence.
