Dr Ira Fedder

Every time my husband( the Patient) and I visited with Dr Fedder he was amazing. He is personable and kind.. He explains things over and over until my husband understood and he answered all my numerous questions patiently. His surgery went perfectly on my husbands spine needing 5 fused discs. My husband was not rested after surgery and Dr Fedder went back in the recovery room after a brief conversation with me as to what would calm my husband, and it worked like a charm.. Dr Fedder did not have to do it, and I gratefully appreciated his effort and attention to the small details.. where my husband could barely walk a few feet with out resting, now he can walk miles at a time..

Long wait time followed by no help from the doctor

Couteous staff, very efficient and frriendly.. The Dr. explained my problem clearly and spent time doing this even though he is surgeon and I clearly did not require surgery

I do not know about Dr fedder himself but I had the unpleasant experience of dealing with his PA Kathryn Schweier. This woman (more like young girl), has to be one the most condescending and snide people I've ever come across. Rude is an understatement. The staff at this facility (Towson orthopedics) were very nice and understanding but once I got to see a physician I was treated like I was a moron and I didn't have any business being in there office. Hello! You're a doctor and I'm sick, figure out what is wrong! Instead they act like there is really nothing wrong and it's all in your head. Once they tell you you're fine they offer no other option like, "you need to see this individual, he can help you." No, nothing. Instead her protocol was, 6 weeks of physical therapy and if that failed spinal injections. When I questioned her about why would that need to be done if you don't see an obvious problem on my mri, she shrugged her shoulders and said, "It might help." Might help what???… She just said that there are no obvious problems yet she was willing to shoot me with a poisonous substance that actually deteriorates the joints even more. Thanks for your help. It's people like this that make me lose faith in "modern" medicine.

I won't let anyone else touch my back. Dr. Fedder is excellent.

Dr. Fedder operated on my neck and lower back. He is excellent. A real patient's doctor. He cares about his patients and he makes sure their care is the best. I've heard a lot of horror stories about back surgery and back surgeons. I wouldn't let anyone else touch my back. One reviewer said he wasn't friendly. He's professional and he takes all the time you need to inform you and answer any questions you have. He's not your buddy. He's your surgeon. However, his bedside manner is great and he's very compassionate. Sometimes his schedule gets backed up during the day, but from experience I can say if you want your spine taken good care of, it's worth the wait. In the Baltimore area, he's known as one of the best. His staff is excellent also. When I needed an extension on time off from work and called his office, they took care of it right away. Like I said, I wouldn't go to anyone else for my back.

MY 2 appointments were 1 hr and 45 minute late for each one. He has a very arrogant and strange bedside manner. Would never go back.

You can say what you want to about Dr. Fedder,he has been my wifes doctor for 20 years and has always been there for us.If like to here a lot of flowers and cupcakes he is not the doctor for you!He is straight forward in diagnosis and very to the point,but isn't that what you want from your doctor?My wife has 3 major back surgeries and would never consider have anybody else touch her back!He has been a life saver for us!If you have back problems,what ever you do go see Dr. Fedder!Overall rating is 4 star plus!

Ira Fedder seemed to be competent. However, he was unfriendly and cold to the point of being rude.

I would put my life in Dr. Fedder's hands and have full trust in him. He is absolutely amazing; actually cares deeply about all of his patients and has always been very comforting to me when I was having a tough time w/my back. Please, if you are having spine issues, see Dr. Fedder!
