A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Initial Oral Examination
Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations. Dr. Grosser will also take x-rays, which will include periapical x-rays for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as bite-wing x-rays for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth.
Cleanings and Periodontal Treatment
All patients should have a standard cleaning at least twice a year. A child should have a cleaning and fluoride treatment twice a year. We have two hygienists on staff to treat our patients.
Fillings Resin and Amalgam
We use both tooth colored resin filings that are cured to match your teeth and amalgam (silver-colored) fillings that are used for posterior teeth because it is a more durable material. If an amalgam filling shows in your smile we can replace it with a tooth-colored resin filling.
Root Canals
We perform root canals on anterior, premolar and molar teeth by appointment in our office.

Bridges are custom-made so they are barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of teeth as well as the proper bite relationship between upper and lower teeth. Bridges are sometimes referred to as fixed partial dentures because they are semi-permanent and are bonded to existing teeth or implants. Some bridges are removable and can be cleaned by the wearer; others need to be removed by a dentist.
