Dr. Irakli Soulakvelidze, MD

I met Dr. Soulakvelidze (and his 2 medical students) after being referred by my neurologist. I have suffered with back pain for many years. I have tried everything, surgeries, stimulator, injections and pain meds. I was at the end of my rope and this has caused serious depression. I was evaluated by a lovely woman med student, (which is normal) who was very compassionate. She discussed with Dr.. Soulakvelidze, who also discussed the situation with me. He showed extreme compassion and understanding. They gently encouraged me to inpatient psych hospitalization, (which was a disaster at Montlake ER, I do not blame Dr. S.). After over 9 hours in ER with a very cold MSW and having to insist on talking to a physician. I insisted on discharge. I was able to secure an appointment with Dr. Soulakvelidze the next morning (I traveled 300 miles for this and another appointment). I found Dr. Soulakvelidze and different med student to be extremely compassionate and understanding. We worked out a… plan for a pain management. I am most impressed. I have met with multiple specialists in my 30 years of back pain and NONE HAS DEMONSTRATED THE COMPASSIONATE AND CARING that Dr. Soulakvelidze has. I am so grateful to him and his students. He leads by example. I look forward to followup care with him.

I have also wondered how many people have committed suicide on account of such an ignorant fool, quick story ,I'm a Cancer patient it started as Rectal cancer and spread , I'll give a sample of just part of the things removed through many major cancer surguries, my colon , my Rectum, my bladder , my prostate, my appendix, tons of intestines over and over and over due to resections due to 84 Bowel obstructions from scar tissue from those resections "very painful obstructions" anyways to make it shorter the empty space were organs used to be all filled with abcesses and fluid collections and down by my tailbone I'm in agony ALL THE TIME , I was on 12 x 30mg oxycodone per day for 8 years, my doc retired and referred me to this guy and instantly he cut me to 4 x 15mg and I have in agony ever since (6 months so far) and he doesnt seem to care , family have even begged him to help me but he just says " youll be fine" I am afraid I might be another patient of this evil man who just… couldnt suffer anymore and ends it, I used to be able to at least halfway function by not anymore , I just lie in bed in agony praying for death

I walked out of Dr. Soulakvelidze's office wondering how many patients he had seen that contemplated suicide after seeing him. I has to see him to discuss ilioinguinal and genito-femoral neuralgia after a surgeon had severed those nerves during a hernia surgery. Dr. Soulakvelidze told me I needed to admit I am in chronic pain, and I could see a pain psychologist, but should not try to find a "fix" for this. At 36 yrs old, he thought I should just learn to live with the pain. He ridiculed me for taking pain narcotics to handle the nerve pain. I sought care elsewhere, and just had another surgery where the surgeon found my nerves were trapped in scar tissue, and a new hernia had formed. I had 3 nerves excised, an existing hernia repaired, and a new one repaired. I am not on pain meds anymore, and I can fully enjoy life. If I had listened to Dr. Soulakvelidze, I would have had no hope, and would still be here on pain meds dealing with excruciating pain. This Dr should only be seen if… you have tried everything else possible. He does not believe in trying to get out of the pain. Just spend more money on medications and psychologists. I was so disappointed. Don't let him discourage you. Someone out there can and will help you.
