Dr. Irena C. Kodz, MD

I was extremely disappointed with my last visit to the doctor on April 12th. She reacted inappropriately to the fact that I forgot to take a blood test. In particular, she asked me " Why are all Ukrainian are so stupid that they constantly forget something. I am Ukrainian myself and Dr. Irena Kodz was aware of my nationality before she made that comment. I am thinking about filing a lawsuit against the hospital as that comment was very discriminative regarding my ethnicity and the doctor's behavior wasn't proper. I think that Dr. Irena Kodz forgot that Ukrainians make up the main part of all her patients and provide not only her income but also the income of the hospital where she works for. The country in which she was born (Belarus) supports and contributes to the war that Russia is waging against Ukraine. I will consider these words as racial discrimination. I know that this is not the first time that she allowed herself such statements. Therefore, I believe that this person… should not hold this position and her license should be revoked. Moreover, I will never recommend anybody I know to visit this doctor and hospital she works for. I hope that you will take it into account if reputation has matter for you.

Doctor Kodz is extremely experienced family doctor. I and my whole family have been seeing her since 2010.She took and excellent care and administered lots of tests for my deceased mother. She responds very attentively to all my health problems and looks in depth of every possible solution to find the best decision and treatment. I highly recommend this very devoted doctor to become your family physician for life. Dr. Kodz speaks English, Ukrainian and Russian languages and is a great asset to Southwest General Hospital team. She deserves lots of respect for her continuous education and knowledge that she brings into practice taking care of her patients.

Dr Kodz is a knowledgeable and caring physician. She doesn’t just go through the motions. She asks in depth questions, is thoughtful in her approach to diagnosis, care and treatment. Highly recommend.

Be ready to spend more time and money on dignosis. She gives lot of time in probing and ask for additional tests. I was still not happy about effectivity of her dignosis. Be careful, she charges for missed appointments (25$).

I have been seeing Dr. Kodz for a couple of years and have never been happy with her. She is BIG on follow up appointments - so when I go in for a general health check, I really do not want to follow up every 3 months. I also do not feel that she listens very intently to what I'm telling her and did not agree with some of the recommendations she made for me.
