Knowledgeable, thorough, and caring. Friendly and personable. Really knows her stuff

Dr. Irene takes good care of her patients, She takes her time to explain my conditions and solutions to them. I have not had a doctor that is this caring and actually share a lot of knowledge to help me with my problems. I am so glad to have found Dr. Gaw Gonzalo.

I have been a type one diabetic for eleven and a half years. I have had three different Endo Doctors since. I with Dr. Gaw-Gonzalo for about four years now. I had switched from my second doctor which was so difficult to bear and honestly meeting Dr. Gaw-Gonzalo was like taking in a breath of fresh air. A lot of my issues were brushed off beforehand (hormonal wise). Dr. Gaw-Gonzalo took her time and helped me find solutions. She is always up to date on new products and new and approved insulins. She is very encouraging and real about how I am to take care of myself, personal or not. She supported me moving away and even gave me a doctor's note to jump out of a plane (imagine that!). She doesn't let me loosen up, let me treat my blood sugars as whatever, treat yourself, it's fine. She encourages me to take the reigns in, because those "treat yourself" moments that we know so dear, are never just a one-time thing. Blessed to have met her, and I hope that she sticks around for the long… run, I think you(the reader) can agree, it's never a fun process finding a good treasured doctor who cares for you and wants the best for you.

Dr. Gonzalo is an excellent Dr. My daughter and I have been seeing her for our thyroid problems. I never feel like I'm rushed and I always feels like she really cares about me. I would highly recommend her!

After taking my daughter to CHLA for years, with Type 1 diabetes, it was nice to get a doctor who finally was able to get my daughter's blood sugars more where they need to be. Which Dr. Gonzalo did by sending her to a diabetes coach and getting her on the pump. The one thing myself and my daughter did not like was the fact that she made my daughter feel bad because she is not going to college and has not been able to find a job yet, and actually scolded her and told her she should not be lazy. My daughter is not lazy, just not the college type, which is fine, because neither was I. Anyways, I do not think this is the doctor's place to scold my child on whether she is in college or not.

I have been a patient of hers since 2003.She has always taken the time to examine, diagnose accurately, discuss in detail, and answer all of my questions.As a male, I am not the least bit concerned with the gender of this doctor.She knows her area of expertise and will treat you properly provided you are honest with your answers to her diagnostic questions.She is treating me for diabetes and hormone replacement therapy with TESTIM. She is always quick to respond with both telephoned and emailed questions.I am fortunate to have her treating me.

I was referred to visit Dr. Gaw Gonzalo. She really spend time on my medical history, which other doctors shortcut on this. I can tell the difference. She really take good care of her patients. I highly recommend this doctor.
