Irene Lynn Rodgers, CRNP

Irene Rodgers is a nurse practitioner specializing in hematology oncology. She treats adults with a variety of blood and bone marrow conditions and cancer. “We see patients throughout every step of their treatment process from diagnosis to treatment and through to remission, both going through active chemotherapy and under surveillance,” she says. “We educate, review test results and imaging, review treatment options, symptom management, care needs and continually check in with the patient and their caregivers to align disease management with their personal goals.”A native of Coopersburg, Ms. Rodgers earned her nursing degree from DeSales University in Allentown.Her mother “was an incredible nurse practitioner that advocated for her patients and always went the extra mile for them,” says Ms. Rodgers — and was her inspiration to pursue her own career in nursing. She chose hematology oncology as her specialty due to her family’s history …with cancer. “There’s nothing more important or more rewarding for me than being in a position where I can listen to and help people every day,” says Ms. Rodgers. “In the oncology clinic, relationships with patients are always beginning and ending. While it’s difficult, it’s also a privilege that I get to spend time getting to know each of them. I will always work to make it easier in any way I can, to make sure they get the care they need and deserve.”Ms. Rodgers and her husband are pet parents to 2 cats and a dog. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and camping, yoga, reading, cooking, travel, volunteering at the humane society and tabletop gaming.
