I am a dentist and a few years ago had a serious health problem of my own. I was being treated by another internist who had me on low dose prednisone for two years. Dr. Silva asked why I was taking it. The dosage was not enough to be of any clinical benefit, but it was just enough to cause osteoporosis. She helped me cease the medication. During that time with the other doctor, my spine shrank over two inches. My thanks to Dr. Silva for recognizing the mistake and immediately making the changes. She really knows her medicine.
