Dr. Irene Louise Sokolowski, MD

Back in 2014, with my 1st pregnancy and while visiting with Irene at the hospital in Loveland, Colorado. Now looking back at all my experiences with child birth/ Doctors and Midwives I now see that there were so many red flags with Irene that went ignored purely out of the zero experiences I had, had and the trust I put into her. She was very insensitive with me. Extremely long waits to see her only to rush all of our appointments. The best part of all of this is that I gained an incredible amount of weight (due to a medical emergency). She dismissed it as being from me over eating. Completely ignored how much weight I was gaining and how swollen my entire body was. The day I was induced was the same day I had a urine sample and by this time I was already full term like 39 or 40 weeks. I remember them telling me over the phone my protein levels were the highest they'd ever seen. I had to stay in the hospital 1 week after my baby was discharged and not a word from Irene or a… followup

Dr. Sokolowski has been my OB/GYN for 10+ years. Over the years she consistently made a point of taking time to talk with me on how I am doing, what challenges I may be dealing with and answer any and all questions I have. She has always been extremely caring, professional, competent and non-judgmental which has made me comfortable and more willing to do my annual appointments. I have recommended her to several people who say they are just as happy with the quality of care they receive

Dr. Sok is awesome. I've had several children with her as my doctor and I refuse to go to anyone but her. She's the greatest, gentle, helpful and listens to me as a patient.

Dr Sokolowski is the most insensitive Dr I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. I saw this Dr upon moving to Colorado, and a heartbeat was not detected at my first ultrasound at 7 weeks, she gave me no recommendation at all to return for a followup ultrasound, or testing, much less any warning I may have miscarried. A little over 2 weeks later I miscarried. I now know most Dr's would reschedule you in 1 week for followup, and send you for lab work. I was pregnant again 6 months later , and when I called to schedule first ultrasound again, I was told by front desk Dr Sokolowski does ALL the initial baby visits, then you can see another Dr if you choose. Agreed to be stuck with here one more time. Again, no heartbeat, I was very distressed. This time she recommended I start progesterone suppositories, fine, but during this pregnancy I was having all my levels including progesterone checked at the lab weekly, and that level was always great in my system. Progesterone is expensive,… and I asked her if I should bother with it since again, no heartbeat at all detected. She said yes, I talked with her just a couple more minutes, and asked her one more time to confirm starting the progesterone, keep in mind I was rather distraught but not crying, and she replied to me " You already asked me that question" with a highly irritated look on her face. Then she ordered out $300 worth of testing, additional tests from the hormone levels and progesterone that I was doing weekly, which are the only numbers that really matter in terms of letting you know if you miscarried, without my permission. Even the lab said the additional tests make no sense at this time when I sat down with them for the blood draws. I didn't question it, I was just to upset. Later billed $300 from lab, plus bought my $200 progesterone for an obvious miscarriage at her recommendation. She did call me that night and identified herself by her first name, that didn't sink in for me quickly enough, thought it was her nurse calling me to say blood work came back bad. So I asked if I should continue to take the progesterone Dr Sokolowski had me buy today, and she replied "Do you know who this is"? I didn't recognize it was herby first name, and again that rude response to a woman who is beside herself with grief at that moment. I don't usually take time to write reviews, but I cannot believe what a callous nasty woman she is. I later found out I was misinformed by the front desk, and there is another Dr you can see for initial visits. Now 10 months later I am 6 weeks along and calling the office when I am done here, to schedule with ANYBODY but her!

Dr. S has been my OB for years. She's delivered my last baby and helped me with my endo and subsequent hystorectomy. She's warm, compassionate and super smart about women's issues. I took my mom to her when she was worried about breast cancer and some other stuff. She's been wonderful and highly recommend her.

Even after i had 2 surgeries w her< i suffered 2 years w a misdiagnosis. nice women. great w c sections. terrible at diagnosing something serious!!!!!

Full Viewin much personal importance I am hoping that you remember me but I wanted to share something with you and I also hope to be back in your office soon, I really need it. I feel that I may have an uncommen question or a verry oddly asked question, but here it goes. I weigh 98 pounds, I am 4 foot 11 inches tall and I am 26 years old. I have had 5 successful vaginal deliveries, and breast fed my last 3 children. Before I was able to breast feed, I was a bra size of 34 c. After the fact, I dropped to a size 34 a and they are like empty potatoe sacks. I have not breast fed for 4 years and cannot find the anser to get life back into my breasts. Im desperate for ansers. On the medical side of me, I was diagnosed with Neuropathy but no further action has been taken up. I hope there is someonw out there that can help me and give me some advice or point me in a helpful direction. Sorry for the strange email, but I al feeling like Im running out of options and it is verry important to me.

a little wishy-washy. doesn't remember clients or specific events even though i was going to her for two years before i was pregnant and every two-three weeks while i was pregnant.however she did do a good job on my c-section.
