Dr. Iris G Udasin, MD

Dr. Udasin saved my life. She noticed some out of whack values in blood work conducted at the time of my 1989 initial OSHA medical monitoring. Rather than saying geewhiz about them as doctors had during prior non-OSHA medical screening for insurance, she recommended follow up. As a result, my hereditary hemochromatosis was identified, and I received care to reduce iron levels and prevent the many painful, and sometimes fatal diseases that ensue with untreated hemachromatosis. To this day, it is only through the alert and inquisitive nature of doctors like Dr. Udasin that hereditary hemochromatosis, which affects something like one out of every 300 people, is detected before its most miserable and deadly end product diseases emerge.
