Dr. Irma Livier Hernandez, MD

I am currently with kaiser Permanente and Dr. Irma Hernandez is my primary care physician. This review is specifically about her and not Kaiser. Dr. Hernandez is a wonderful doctor with excellent bedside manner. She gives you what few doctors give nowadays - her time. I cannot tell you how many times so-called department heads and "top rated doctors" have made me feel like a number and have doctor-splained to me about how my body works. I am well educated and did not come to the appointment to be spoken down to, prescribed meds I did not ask for, and then shuffled out the door. If you are seeking a doctor who has the experience and patience to partner with you so that you can achieve your health goals, then you should definitely look her up. Yes, she prescribed meds but she discusses your options with you. She listens carefully to what is bothering you and what you are seeking to improve. She applies her experience to your goals, giving you the expert advice you came for. To me,… that is what the Hippocratic oath and what medicine is all about (I am Greek - I should know). A+++++

She is amazing! I am so grateful to her for her caring, intelligent nature. She is sharp as can be, so before you are done explaining anything she has already written up your prescription... Very caring and efficient. If she is your doctor, if you are only so lucky to get her, I promise you, you will have the best care out there. I love her!

Did not listen to me. Was more interested in “upselling” me to a mammogram and colonoscopy than treating a nasty infection that the tests showed I had. Never called to see if I was better. Not at all a warm personality.

On my first (and only) appointment with Dr.Hernandez, she walked into the room, did not introduce herself and just stated “so you have a lump you’re worried about?”. As a young woman, I was worried to go to this appointment. However, as a registered nurse, I know that physicians are trained to greet and acknowledge the patient. She didn’t make eye contact and was not comforting whatsoever. I’m disappointed that such a young physician is already so jaded.
