Dr. Irma Iris Ortiz-Arroyo, MD

I met Dr. Ortiz 15 years ago when I had just had my first child. She walked me through all the anxiety of being a new mother. She has always been joyful every time we go in for an appointment. She eased our fears and educated us thoroughly about asthma(our second child was diagnosed with it at age 3). We consider ourselves very fortunate to have her as our pediatrician and we love her very much.

Fantastic pediatrician! She is wonderful with my girls, takes plenty of time to explain things and answer any questions we have for her. Highly recommend!

Dr. Ortiz spotted a rare issue with my son. She got him in the hospital and cut through red tape to make it happen quickly. She was open to calls anytime and is always kind and caring. My kids are now 14. I will be sad when they age out. I trust her fully.

Both of my kids (6 ande 2) see Dr. Ortiz. She is amazing. She has fantastic bed side manner. She always remembers us and spends plenty of time with us. I have never had problems getting a same day appt when my kids are sick and her office staff are very responsive.

I have had several bad experiences with Dr. Ortiz. The office staff is unfriendly and very short with her patients. Also, Dr. Ortiz acts like she only has 5 minutes to spend with you and your child after you have already waited 45 minutes to see her. I have left with office on several occasions with unanswered questions.

Dr. Ortiz-Arroyo was recommended to me by a good friend who's son's had been going to her throughout their childhood, and they loved her. She is very kind and gentle to my youngest (started with her at 18 mos), and he loves going to the Dr.'s office (now 4yrs), despite shots, etc.. To my older son, now 10, she is very positive and he feels good after our visits. They save appts for sick visits, so I typically get in the same day if there is a problem we need addressed quickly. She takes her time and I never feel rushed, so we can cover any concerns we have, and they let us schedule well visits together, saving us time and a trip. NOTE: It was very difficult to click on the 4th star - it was disabled until I clicked on the 3star rating. This may cause others to be unable to rate her at 4 stars.

Dr Ortiz would be a great doctor, if you have a normal child. But give her a child with difficulties and she pretends to know more than she actually does causing the parents more stress. She has a problem listening to mom which can often be the best way to help figure out what is wrong with the baby.
