Dr. Irman Forghani

Avoid at all costs. Horribly rude to my family the entire time. Staff lied about conditions in the waiting room. Told me to "shut up" during the exam. Completely unethical hidden billing practices.

Best doctor ever! Thorough. Intelligent. Expert in her field. Her approach was professional and compassionate. I’ve lived with pain for such a long time. I finally see some light!!

Exceptional doctor! So incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. She spent a good amount of time reviewing my past medical and family history, explained possible diagnoses well, provided appropriate referrals, and ordered testing. She explained how all of the testing would work, when to come back for a follow-up, why she was referring me to specific providers, etc. I'm so lucky to have found her! She's the most competent doctor I've ever seen. She really knows her specialty and is quite thorough.

Avoid at all costs. She's not worth the visit. I went to her "Connective Tissue Disorders Clinic" with a CTD diagnosis to have particular subtypes others ruled out, and other possibilities of comorbid and/or similar disorders explored because treatment so far had failed. Her physical exam was not thorough and done with disregard (she re-injured my elbow as I told her it was in a lot of pain, then claimed my inability to move it much due to pain meant that it "wasn't hypermobile"-- it is, and has been assessed as such by very competent practitioners during exams when I was not in so much pain I couldn't move it). She asked me questions about other symptoms, and would roll her eyes at the answers. When asked about alternative diagnoses and/or treatment options, she told me to "try pilates" and left the room after I drove hours to see her. She also missed an EXTREMELY obvious co-morbid diagnosis-- a disease group that literally affects my entire family, every single family member, in… her specialty area! This is egregious considering she had me fill out a detailed family history, reviewed it, and is a /geneticist/, and at no point thought "Hmm, maybe you have a disease that is partially based in genetics, fits your symptoms, and for which the disease group affects every single family member you have." At no point did she suggest screening or treatment for that disease type, while spamming me with referrals I'd not asked for and didn't seem to have justification for via snail mail (NONE of which were for the specialty for the disease group that afflicted my whole family and I likely had). She included in this spam referrals for doctors I'd literally told her I'd seen and didn't want to see again because they'd given me poor care, and others I didn't want to see because I already had local doctors of those specialties and didn't want to regularly drive hours to see ones in Miami for no reason. Other referrals just didn't even seem to make sense or have a reason. When I called and emailed asking for more info about the referrals, I received absolutely no response for several weeks, and when she did respond, it was not adequate. Between her dismissive attitude, poor (and sometimes injury-inducing) diagnostic ability, and sheer negligence, I'd recommend no one see this woman. After paying for and driving hours to see her, I had to self-diagnose based on the form I filled out, get my PCP to write a referral based on my presumptive diagnosis, and get MYSELF screened. Guess what? I have a comorbid, serious disease that, since it had been missed and my care further delayed, continued to deteriorate to the point where I was bedridden before I started receiving treatment. Dr. Forghani has no excuse for doing such a poor job within her own area of expertise. Thank goodness I pushed and got myself into a specialist who accurately diagnosed me, and who is now treating me, and I'm finally seeing improvement. No thanks to Dr. Forghani's major screw-up.
