Dr. Irwin Schussler, DO

His staff was amazing, very kind and caring. Him on the other hand was very condescending and only talked about his accomplishments. I went to him looking for HELP and instead I got him talking down to me and leaving me completely hopeless and feeling worse than I did when I walked in to his office for help. The way I felt was terrible and I don't think I have ever had a medical professional make me feel that way.

Excellent Doctor! I went to him as a pre-teen and he turned my life around. He doesn't put up with crap, but is a very pleasant person. He's not the type of doctor you'll wait an hour to see you. He's very timely and skilled in his practice. I would recommend him to anybody.

Dr. Schussler is the BEST! He is patient and kind. He is an excellent listener. I feel as if I am his only patient of the day. His knowledge is amazing. He is concerned with you as a WHOLE person. His office staff is heavenly. You will immediately feel safe! Run....don't walk to Dr. Schussler!!

From the first time I entered Dr. Schussler's office it felt like I was home. His staff is amazingly friendly, and I look forward to seeing them at my appointments. In the numerous times I've been there Dr. Schussler was late once, by fifteen minutes and apologized profusely. His appointments are 30 minutes and you never feel rushed. He takes the time to get to know you as a person and explains everything about your diagnosis/medication. Schussler is very friendly, and I've been comfortable opening up to him about things that I haven't in therapy or even with family. I could go on and on, but there is no need. If he takes your insurance, stop looking and make an appointment. You won't find a better doctor in Texas.

Instills trust immediately, highly credentialed, yet makes you feel like you're his best friend. Employs a conservative approach to medication and explains the meds and their effect (both good and bad) precisely. The years I spent non-productively were somewhat the result of my ailment and numerous counselors (and my own self determination) were not enough to overcome this condition. Now, three months into treatment I find myself feeling in control and not prone to emotional or irrational decision making. Highly recommend. If doubtful-go see how he can help.

I met Dr. Schussler under very adverse circumstances as I had developed steroid-induced psychosis while receiving chemotherapy for breast cancer. At one time I thought I would eventually be discharged as well and would reduce my enterage of physicians by one. That has not happened, but I do not complain. Dr. Schussler has been there for me during some really rough situations in my life, both situational and health-related. While we may laugh and converse like old friends, I have come to really appreciate that he truly has my mental, physical and spiritual health in mind. He is sometimes more honest with me about me than I might want at the moment, but he is 100% accurate in his assessments. This will tell you how valuable he has become as part of my health care team: he does not accept my insurance and I must pay cash. He's worth every dime of the office visit and then some. If you live in the Fort Worth or even Dallas area and point beyond, or in and around Austin, and you… need psychiatric help, don't think and don't hesitate -- Dr. Schussler is the best there is anywhere in the world, and I know I am very lucky to have him located practically in my back yard. Dr. S has always done his best to accommodate my needs even when the solution requires "thinking outside of the box". His office staff are the most personable and friendly staff of any doctor's office I have been to. He treats the whole person, including requiring patients to see a therapist. I would definitely recommend him.
