Dr. Irwin Leslie Schwartz, MD

My children have been tended to by Dr. Schwartz for over 15 years. He is a fabulous Pediatrician who treats his patients with the utmost care. He not only medically examines/diagnoses them he explains the diagnosis and treatment plans to the patient in terms a child can understand, reissuing them and removing a lot of anxiety/fear children have when visiting a doctor's office. He is also a meticulous diagnostician and in regards to pharmaceuticals, tends to lean towards the least amount medicine necessary to achieve wellness. His patients safety is his utmost concern. Dr. Schwartz has a wonderful staff that has remained loyally by his side the entire time my children have been under his care. They are pleasant and cheerful. Diane ( Dr. Schwartz's left hand) is utterly lovely and has been so wonderful to my children, she is the epitome of what an excellent nurse should be! I recommend Dr. schwartz to anyone looking for a pediatrician in the Three Village Area.

Dr. Schwartz is WONDERFUL with the kids, with us, and with all the experience he has, he's seen everything. We've been going there for four years and wouldn't change despite the one big negative - the wait time. We have been scheduled for 10am and gotten in at 11:15, been scheduled for 11 and gotten in after noon. Sometimes you wait in the lobby with an array of toys, sometimes in the cramped patients room. You can be going in for a single flu shot and sit and sit and sit.As you all know, no matter what you're equipped with, the kids'/infants' patience has a time limit, and note also that A) there are sick kids in a tight space, and B) you're not the only parent who's waiting. It is a major problem. You'll always be able to get an appointment, but there's no telling when you're going to get out of there.

The only negative thing I can say about Dr. Schwartz is that the wait time can be outrageous. Besides that, Dr. Schwartz is a phenomenal pediatrician. He may be overly cautious, but I see this as a positive trait.

very pleasant, nice man. interested in his patients - quick to refer when he feels it necessary - all that being said, he is not a good pediatrician. he is overly cautious - which doesn't do anybody any good - and his is a POOR diagnostician!
