Dr. Isaac Chankai, MD

My husband and I are so grateful to Dr. Chankai, and his excellent bed side manner. The way he took the time to explain my medical condition and procedures, while answering all of our questions was much appreciated. He was so focused on my needs, I felt like he had nothing else to do but to treat me. I am thankful for the way Dr. Chankai thoughtfully dealt with my emotional reactions as well. He is the best doctor I have had! I highly recommend Dr. Chankai!

My family has had several surgeries performed by Dr. Chankai, including a double mastectomy for breast cancer. From start to finish his bed-side manner was impeccable for all four surgeries, his explanations clear and concise. Kind and caring, he was sympathetic to our emotional needs throughout each process. His skill as a surgeon is impeccable. For some of the surgeries one cannot tell there had been a surgery; very thin scar line for the more minor surgeries, and smooth and even scars for the double mastectomy that will obviously become more inconspicuous with time. I cannot recommend Dr. Chankai enough.

No pre-op screening, not even a check of my vitals. He could not finish the procedure, he needed a wire that he did not have, so he was not prepared. He aborted the procedure, closed the wound, I asked them to call for my ride and was told to go to the reception desk and ask out there. while waiting in that line, my wound, which apparently did not have proper compression on it, opened and I began to bleed out in the reception area. They patched me back up and sent me home without giving me any kind of post op care instructions. He was very apologetic, but it would serve him better if he had shown more concern for his patient, given me any courtesy, like calling for my ride after you abort a procedure. Being prepared for the surgery of course would have been the thing.
