I've been seeing Dr. Hanna every 3 months for 5 years. This last time will hopefully be the LAST time for seeing her. After all this time and appts. 3-4 times/year, she had NO idea who I was. Came in, she asked "what job do you do?" She asked questions she knew the answer to, I said for her to look at her notes from prior visits.
She will not diagnose anything. She doesn't order tests. She will tell you to "see a doctor at U. of M", but won't help you find one or write any referral. If you are shorted a prescription month or need a simple refill and call her office, they will NOT send your prescription to the pharmacy, stating "She doesn't do that." That's her JOB. They make you come in to the office for an exam just to get a prescription filled.
She will do an unasked for, unneeded breast exam, every single time. I just had 2 rounds of chest x-rays at Beaumont with experts who can read them, I go to my appt. with her, wants to do a pseudo exam, probably just to bill the… insurance more. When I explained I'd just had all of this pro testing done at the hospital with x-rays and MRI's, all copies of tests sent to her, she was offended about it. Copped an attitude and tried to explain why I still needed it done, apparently just so she gets a higher payment from the insurance.
I am on maintenance prescriptions, some initiated by her and others by prior doctors to have my PCP fill, which she is my PCP. Every single time, and I mean every time, she will ask why I need a drug, even one she originally prescribed she asks me what it is, she will state that medications used to control migraines can be used for headaches can be used for Arthritis. HINT: No they are not.
When you bring in any outside meds, scripts from another dr. prior prescription, she will never have heard of the drug.
Her newest was to try and refuse every one of my medication refills, rendering her 100% useless. She created a huge argument that one of my Arthritis meds was an OPIOID. Like so many other doctors lately, she treats me like a drug seeker. This med is not an Opioid, it is a muscle relaxer. Got to go back and forth with her on this, I said just check the Internet! No, she starts checking her Physicians Desk References in the room, I believe dated 1988, 1990, 1992. Old! Can't find my med (duh!), now leaves and calls the pharmacy, they explain to her that it's a muscle relaxer and NOT an Opioid. She comes back and says nothing, tries to resume Who Even Knows What honestly, had to ask what happened, she tells, then tries to counter that so she still appears right with "Well the govt. is cracking down on Opioids and pain killers..." No! I'm not living in pain because you are drawing your own conclusions.
She also tries to force me, a female, to see her OBGYN husband next door, last time they didn't want me to leave. I saw him on her request a few years back, I won't see him again! He puts a camera inside of you for your yearly exam, changed my birth control pills to one my insurance won't cover because he said so, and wants me to come back every few months!
In summary, Dr. Hanna will:
1.) Not diagnose you with anything, 2.) Not order any medical tests that may need to be done, 3.) Not create new prescriptions you may need based on new symptoms or a diagnosis from another doctor, 4.) Not order prescription refills electronically or if the Pharmacy calls, making you go in for an unneeded appt., 5.) Not know what any prescription medication because she can't find it in the 1988 Physicians Desk Reference, 6.) Greet you cheerily like a new patient every time, but when finds out you are not new, act sullen and annoyed, 7.) Explain to you how Chiropractors are fake and she "doesn't believe in them," while offering no other suggestions for your pain, 8.) Waste your time performing an unneeded breast exam but never mention her "results", 9.) Attempt to compartmentalize all of your diagnoses and illnesses and pain into 1 prescription drug because you don't need the others, "they all do the same thing", 10.) Not read your testing results sent in from other medical clinics or doctor offices, 11.) Strong arm you into seeing her OBGYN husband next door, even if you don't need an OBGYN appt. and/or don't like the guy, 12.) Bill every single one of your medical visits with her as a Diagnostic visit, rather than Preventative which mine always are, so she gets more money from the Insurance and now you have a co-pay, 13.) Pick out 1 prescription that you are taking and blanket statement that one to be a snake oil cure for all other medical issues, try to cancel the rest of your scripts, and tell the you govt. is cracking down not only on Opioids, but whatever else you may be taking, 14.) And in 2018, give you a PAPER prescription for refills, that has the city list as "East Detroit" and the area code listed as "313".
