Dr. Islam A Hassan, DO

Dr. Hassan is a confident and capable DO but if you’re looking for a provider that will coddle you, go somewhere else. I have so much appreciation for this team. By the time I brought my Mother to Dr. Hassan, I had very little faith in the medical system, overall, and a lot of frustration towards doctors, specifically. He is incredibly straightforward and very thorough. It’s true- he does not bother with niceties or make jokes and his manner can seem abrupt at first but at the end of the day, he is dedicated and caring in his own way. His team is incredibly nice to my Mother and I am so thankful for all of their assistance.

Worst experience I ever have had anywhere ever. Feigned sleeping while I was filling out the paperwork that I was asked to fillout. Then proceeded to assume he was going to yell at me for wasting his time, without saying anything otherwise, for filling out the paperwork. We hadn't spoken a word tell he started yelling. Needs psychiatric or minimally professional help. Couldn't be farther from professional or caring human being or Doctor. Wouldn't use if I was dying and he was the last neurologist on Earth. Proceeded to walk me out of the building like I was the problem and a criminal. Certainly hope his behavior wasn't because I was wearing an Irish restaurant shirt with their Celtic cross logo. Like I said he said nothing then was Dr. Jeckyl.

AVOID THIS NEUROLOGIST. Man, I should have gone with my gut on this one. He had bad reviews so I questioned the referral and was assured that he's a good doctor. So I show up at 7:50am for my 8am appt and NO ONE is there. I go to all 3 entrances - all locked. No cars in the parking lot. I call twice, no answering service so I leave a message at 8am and another at 8:15. I leave. Never hear back. I'm driving through Oneida at noon and see that there are cars in the parking lot. I pull in and go into the office, and ask where they were for my appointment at 8am. Receptionist is deer in the headlights and says "oh yeah, I was supposed to call you"... Mind you, this is FOUR HOURS after my appointment and 2 voice messages. She says she will get the doctor and I wait. He comes in and is immediately arrogant and acting like I'm some naughty child who flaked on her appointment. He tells me he pulled in at 7:58am for an 8am appointment and no one was here. I said that's funny because I left… at 8:05am and no one was here, I even went around the whole parking lot because there are 3 entrances. He completely dismisses me and says he knows what really happened and I was patient enough. Apparently, according to Dr. Hassan, I'm supposed to be patient because he couldn't bother showing up on time for an 8am appointment and I'm also supposed to read minds and know that they are there and will open the doors when they get to it (what?!). He was EXTREMELY condescending and then said "maybe I can fit you in Monday" like he was doing me some favor. No. I told him is unprofessional, arrogant, and FIRED. And I left. I highly recommend rescheduling with a different neuro if you happen to have an appointment with this guy. Meanwhile, I read reviews that he kicked people out of his office for being 15 minutes late. So don't come early, don't come on time and don't be late. Yeah, I want YOU handling my neurological needs ??

A Dr. That actually listens and treats each patient individually. educates you and shares each step in the process.
