Dr. Islam Mohsen Zaydan, MD

WORST doctor I have ever had. This doctor belittled me. He put me down. He called me a liar. Saying I was making my neurological symptoms up. He insulted me. He made me cry and feel hopeless. I am having a true medical problem. Yet Dr. Zaydan refused to help at all. In fact he hurt me further because he didn't believe me that his tests hurt. So he kept making me repeat them. He also caused a migraine. Despite telling me that the light causes them. NEVER go to this doctor. He is not a doctor. He is an a**hole and a woman hater who refuses to speak professionally to a patient!

He always is sure to take his time with patients and listen to how they are feeling and what they are thinking about what's happening. I have never once been rushed in his office nor have I left with questions unanswered.

Not only did Dr. Zaydan listen, he always responded to me in real-life sentences that I could understand and remember. He spent his time talking with me, administering tests, etc. but never staring at his computer. I learned by accident that he’d had gall bladder surgery and when I had the same surgery ~ 2 years later, suffering post op problems that kept me in the hospital an extra ten days, Dr. Zaydan somehow made time to make a surprise, but very welcome visit to my husband and me. Last, and very importantly, I learned that the staff ALL loved Dr. Zaydan. To me, that speaks volumes.

My mother is a patient with NMO. Not many specialists are familiar with this disease. She has been experiencing a lot of difficulty this month being hospitalized 3 times. It has been very difficult (slightly impossible) to get Dr. Zaydan to actively participate in her care. I have had conversations with specialists not treating my mother including one from Johns Hopkins who specializes in NMO. It would be helpful if Dr. Zaydan would commit a little time to facilitating my mothers care instead of me, hospitalists, cardiologist, etc leaving countless messages with no avail. I don't know if he is a good or bad physician because he has not been available. I hope he reads these reviews and understands how much his neglect is affecting my family.

I met Dr Zaydan today for the first time. My previous neurologist, Dr Galen Mitchell, retired and I was sad to see him go. Dr Zaydan had some mighty big shoes to fill. I was reassured that I was in good hands as he began discussing my situation to date. I supplied as much new information as possible so that he would understand that I am a participating patient in my care. I did not mince words, and his responses were genuine and informative.

I drove a few hours just to see Dr. Zaydan, and it was definitely worth it. The office was very busy, but quick to get people taken care of. Dr. Zaydan is the most patient and caring doctor that I have ever experienced. If you told me that I was his only patient, I would believe you. Very down to earth doctor that speaks to you like an old friend. Dr. Zaydan explains absolutely everything and anything that you ask, and most importantly, he LISTENS to everything you say. He actually listens and cares.... That is extremely hard to find in a physician anymore. EXTREMELY intelligent!!

Great Doctors

Doctor was very nice for the 30 minutes I saw him. Making the appointment and all follow-ups have been a nightmare. Medication was incorrect and it took over a month for anyone in the office to correct it. No one ever speaks to you or answers the phone. Takes months for an appointment and weeks for them to return phone calls even when it's an urgent matter. If you want to be told you have a chronic disease that you need treatment for and then never have anyone concerned with actually getting you treated, I would recommend this practice.

I think Dr. Zaydan is a wonderful and compassionate doctor. He takes his time and never rushes you. He is very caring and knowledgeable. I have MS and I feel he wants the best for his patients.
